My son is 7 and he still likes to play in the bath, I like it too as he is old enough to be left and it gives me time to get something done whilst he is occupied :)

Leaving a seven year old alone in the bath?

You think you should be in the bathroom with a 7 year old????? shok.gif

My son used to take his action figures in the bath with him. Most of them ended up being left in the bathroom, I can remember my husband yelling because he accidentally sat on a Spiderman when he sat down in the tub! :rotfl:

My son is now 17 and we still have a wind-up swimming shark that we keep in the bathroom. Obviously, I don't go in there when he's in the bath but I do hear the shark mechanism whirring so I know that he still plays with it. Mind you, so do I! ;)

Of course you can leave them alone in the bath at 7 years old. Not for more than a few minutes at a time though, kids do have a nasty habit of managing to get most of the bathwater slopping over the side and leaving your bathroom floor like a swimming pool. Or else they manage to dump a whole bottle of shampoo in the water to "make more bubbles".......

My son just takes his lego men and boats in, or playmobil. Loves playing in the bath. He also likes wearing his goggles.

Playmobil. They have figures, boats...all sorts and it's good for playing just about anywhere with. It's not cheap but my sons playmobil looks as good as the day we bought it and some of it is 8 years old now. He still plays with it from time to time.

No children at all in this house, but a couple of light up rubber ducks. :D. I also read in the bath ( not great for a splashy kid I would think) and listen to music. I wonder though if listening to a story in the bath , particularly if he baths in the evening might be a nice calming thing?

My son is 10 and still plays in the bath! I bought done measuring cups and he's forever figuring out mathematical responses to capacity! He also likes using the medicine syringes to fill them with as well as filling up empty containers with bath water! He'd play in there for hours if I let him!!

I've been letting my children bath alone with me nearby calling and checking on them since they were 6/7 yrs old, they're very bright children who understand risks and understand rules! I'd think it was a bit strange for parental supervision much past 7, unless there were specific needs or they were very immature!

    Some great ideas here.

I didn't know you could make your own bath crayons, I will look into that.

Playmobil is a great idea we have some of that, sadly no boats but I will look out for one on ebay.

I will also give him the cup measuring spoons from the kitchen and the syringe from the calpol (I prefer to use a spoon)

My son is eight and is mad on dinosaurs.., and we have a net bag of them in the bathroom. some of them fill with water but I just sit them on the side of the bath and squeeze the water out when I have time. Then they go in the bag. Fortunately I shower so haven't sat on anything yet lol.

He's eight and also loves jugs and things. Yes, I still remove all soapy liquids in case he feels the need of more bubbles ha ha!

I do sit in the bathroom sometimes when he wants me to talk with him but most of the time I just find something that needs doing in the vicinity.
