Examples from the choices on the website that are in my personal top ten -
Take a trip to Tanera Mor which lies 1.5 miles offshore from Achiltibuie in the mouth of Loch Broom, and is the largest island in the Summer Isles group. With a plentiful fresh water supply, a deep sheltered anchorage and high lookout points, Tanera is the perfect place to spot otters, seals and many bird species.
Depart from Inverness harbour out onto the Moray Firth where you have the best chance of seeing the most northerly group of bottlenose dolphins in the world plus common seals, grey seals and porpoise. In the Moray Firth there is a lot of bird life such as terns, gannets, fulmars, razorbills, kittiwakes, red kites, ospreys, and a variety of wadding birds on the shoreline mud flats and Munlochy Bay which is the RSPB sanctuary.
Go for a walk on the remarkable Isle of May, which is an important National Nature Reserve owned and run by Scottish Natural Heritage. See the remains of a 12th Century monastery and the oldest light house in Scotland, as well as incredible wildlife including seals, puffins, guillemot, razorbill, cormorant, shag, eiderduck and many more.
If you've ever wanted to take in the sights and sounds of Hamish Macbeth's Loch Dubh then come and visit the idyllic villiage of Plockton - setting for the ever-popular BBC drama. Visit the locations of all the action and see if you can spot 'Wee' Jock' running through the streets.
There are loads to chose from, have fun and good luck!!!
