B&Q checkouts. (Just a quick vent)

It annoys me that B&Q already charge for carrier bags. Fine if I'm buying one small fuse, a bag is excessive. But if I'm spending over £100 on decorating, I rather expect a bag to carry it in.
(Can you tell I'm not looking forward to the legal change in April?)

I want a brown cardboard bag (like America) , could be a bottle of cider or a chicken inside0

I went into my local B&Q about five years ago & one of the checkout people asked me if I wanted a pensioners discount card.
I said yes please that would be rather nice.
I was only 55 at the time...........!!!!!!!!!!
Must have looked a bit rough that day......
Used it ever since .0 -

Not going to look forward to the 1-2 weeks beforehand as customers buying 3-4 items normall take 1 bag, instead 3-4 bags. Then afterwards.
My colleagues and I can guess which customers will not bother getting their own bags...This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Have to say shopping at B&Q is awful. Normally a queue, Never any tills open, half the self checkouts not working, bored member of staff stood waiting to help with the machines that are working, no bags and loud music throughout the store.
Recently a Homebase opened locally, this has loads of staff milling about with headsets on, and normally a 'greeter' at the entrance but still, when you get to the checkouts there is never anyone on them.
Prices in both aren't as cheap as they used to be either. Shame they ran most of the local DIY places out of business.0
