B&Q checkouts. (Just a quick vent)

I once waited 15 minutes to be served until the point I left the items and walked out, staff were walking past not one bothered to serve me, every isle was empty!:mad:0

The B&Q by the Ikea towers? I work near there and whenever I needed to go in B&Q there is always a queue and usually only 1 till working.
That's the one.
Normally I would have hung about and asked to speak to the store manager but I was there at about 3:30pm on a Friday and I wanted to get out of the area before the Friday afternoon traffic started to build up. (The Purley way get's very busy from about 4ish.).
I have also done the same as you firefox, simply leaving a trolley or basket full of stuff and walking out.
The way I look at it, if the store owners don't care about inconveniencing their customers, why should I give them my money?0 -
B&Q don't care, even before self service checkouts they didn't - or at least near me. I used to work on the checkouts and every day my supervisors would call me off of the till to go and do random little jobs, leaving customers literally standing there waiting. Absolutely hated working there and never shopped there againMisc debts - £5,000 | Student loan - £9,000 | Mortgage - £180,000

How many checkout did they have open?
Of the 4 tills that require a checkout assistant, one was open and they also have 4 self service points but only two were working.
After queuing up and waiting for 10 minutes with no apparent movement of the queue, I gave up, handing my intended purchases to a passing member of staff.
I made sure that they knew why I was leaving and that I was on my way to a different store (Homebase), one that usually treats their customers a bit better.
We hear about high street shops closing down all the time and this often gets blamed on people buying through the internet, but as long as some shops don't appear to care about their potential customers, the number of closures will only increase.
The time that you spent writing this post, you could have queued up and purchased your items!! :rotfl:0 -

Well, considering that the original post took less than a couple of minutes to type and I was standing in the queue for 10 minutes with no movement whatsoever, I can't see how you came to your conclusion unless you are the worlds worst typist.0 -
Best day to shop at B&Q is on a Wednesday, always plenty of extra staff on hand to help the Wednesday discount card shoppers. Our local stores (3) always have at least three tills open as many of the older generation prefer not to use the self service tills.0
