£3 Tilly tidied today, as I round down to nearest £5 on a Sunday. Been for a mega dog walk this morning. Following other themes washing line is full!

Today's task is to clear out the garage with numerous tip runs. The garage has been the dumping ground for months whilst we've cleared each room to decorate so its a much needed job!

  • Do love a good tip run, it's amazing how much space it creates and if I'd known - you could have taken ours!

Well tip run was an uninspiring job but at least the garage is t an assault course anymore.

We bought the hamster cage in the ebay auction for £28.30. Money came out of PayPal fund so free in essence. So we'll be heading for a fluffy addition in a few days.

66p tidied this morning taking us to £17.30 from tt's.

Payday tomorrow and finished with £116 in the bank so very pleased with that. That money will go straight to plumbing bill rather than OP I'm afraid. Pity as that would have wiped out the remaining 130k's 1 full month early!!

Annual asthma clinic review this morning followes by long day in work (8.15finish) so it'll be a NSD.

Thanks DFOD - asthma clinic was fine, and id even say our practice has improved as they offered me a date for flu jab already!! Suppose it saves them a reminder stamp though.

Been swamped in the last week or so (even too busy in work to sneak some time on here...) so I've fallen behind a bit on keeping up with diaries, but i will endeavor to catch up at some stage. I've just set myself the challenge of making sure i post on my diary each day to ensure i stay focused.

Payday today, which also means paying out day is tomorrow!! But it inches me closer to accounts posting day - only 7 sleeps! Mrs SJ payday is Friday where i can see how much exactly her payrise is per payday (she gets paid 13 times per year which confuses things slightly) and then amend our bank of SO's. In keeping with us paying 1/3 of income to mortgage i'll split the payrise across OP, Adult Long Term Savings and Kids Long Term Savings.

Tilly tidied 85p this morning so that pot is looking very healthy at £18.15

I've just done some sums and i think after this months accounts that we'll be approx £7 from blasting through the 130k's. So decision is made that if we are less than £10 i'll make a bonus payment for that amount and take the money from my personal weekly spends. That will very excitedly allow me to colour in 2 bricks for the month, and cross off the first target on post 1. Extreme actions are called for to break through a 10k milestone!

Day off today and mum and dad have stolen the boys for the morning so i'm off for a mega dog walk! Then DS1 is off to his friends for the afternoon so i'll head to park with DS2 for a couple of hours.

Wow, not stopped all day. Big big dog walk, followed by nipping to order DS1's school jumpers, but had to make 2 journeys as i nipped back for last years as the sizing has typically changed! Then picked DS1 up and took him to his friends, then went back for DS2 from nanny's.

Quick Tesco visit to return a few things and got a key cut that i've been meaning to do for about 6 months (£6!!! I nearly threw up on the bloke - cue the conversation of "well its 2 for £9 or 3 for £12" "but i only need 1", "what about spares?" "i don't need a spare of a spare of a spare)!

Then off to park with DS2. We had to run though when the heavens opened and all i could think of was the boys bedding on the line, and my smugness saying to Mrs SJ "look i even washed the boys bedding" was waning. As expected its wetter now than it was when i put it on the line! And it would have been bone dry as well 30mins earlier... SO to make up for that think i'll sneakily hoover the living room before Mrs SJ returns in the hope of earning a spectacular tea!

So, quick brew before heading out again to pick DS1 up, then back to make tea for the gruesome twosome.

Oh i also ordered a thermostat for the fridge in a last ditch attempt to save its (and our) bacon. Hopefully £20 spent will stop us spending £200!

Inspired by ourcornercottage i've just looked back and charted our monthly interest for each of the last 5 Augusts. This makes for startling reading, and a definite set of figures to show Mrs SJ to help with her compliance in this quest!
    • Aug 2011 - £472.33
    • Aug 2012 - £500.14
    • Aug 2013 - £479.51
    • Aug 2014 - £467.00
    • Aug 2015 - £221.43

So as much as i thought we were doing well for the last 5 years, we possibly weren't!

  • Yeah but just look at the interest for this August, that is a MASSIVE reduction!
