I saw something suggesting we all decorate and picnics in our front gardens... Also, the government seems to have planned our day out for us, which is nice of them - two minutes silence at 11, the Queen at 9.30 ? pm and a rousing rendition of We'll Meet Again at some point.... (I have no objections to any of these things, but it did amuse me how they'd scheduled everything - as if our lives aren't controlled enough at the moment!)Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

We're planning afternoon tea - but in the back garden, not the front
I shall write my shopping list later after I've planned the menu for it/ checked what we already have. The weather forecast at the moment looks hopeful (not sure quite paddling pool temperatures, but certainly warm enough (and dry!) to be outside...

Well I can definitively say that today is the first day/time that it has 'gotten' to me. The kids with home schooling I have to say have been fantastic, very little complaining at all. Yet I've found myself half snapping at them for nothing! Thankfully I've recognised thats its me and managed to hold it in, but today has been challenging! And I know its me as it 'feels' like they've been relentlessly asking/pestering for things! They haven't been any different that usual... I tried to get away for an hour at lunch with a dog walk, but typically DD and DS2 spotted me putting my trainers on and enthusiastically came out with me, and I'm now trying to 'hide' garden to sort myself out, but I reckon it took 3mins for DD to follow me out saying 'we are hiding'!
I suppose I've done well in the grand scheme of it for it to have taken this long, but I could definitely do with a 'child free' day! Only 27 days to go before a chance of that...and thats hoping that all 3 kids year groups go back to school at the same time! Rant over, a beer in the last hour of garden sunshine is needed (hopefully DD will leave me alone).
Moneywise, I made a tiny 27p TT this morning.

You're doing a great job, SJ, you're bound to have an off day. Maybe tell them to go hide next time and then go sit in the gardenMortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.

Jimmy, you are entitled to some child free time and certainly the older ones should be able to understand the concept of alone time. Can you not gently ask them to give you half an hour of peace oncea day?
On holiday with the brownies we would have ‘rest hour’ after lunch - girls were expected to sit quietly on their own beds reading or doing their holiday diary. We made it quite clear that we weren’t going to be happy if we were disturbed and if there was an extra adult (visitor) they were responsible for supervision - on the whole the children understood that we needed a rest (and that they did too) and that we’d be less snappy if we had it. It’s not unreasonable to have a break - that’s why teachers don’t supervise lunchtime every day or for the whole time.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

All gets to us one way or another, how about a school/home holiday day, and at least you would have a rest at teaching, public holiday coming up Friday and although this doesn't mean kid free at least its tutor free. (I am imaging you the same as that advert - dad - something really bad has happened - Know the one? where he shuts himself in the shed).Watching the Coronavirus Q&A on tv atm and guess what - one question was about Static caravan's site fees - Simon (who was answering the question), said - No, we shouldn't be paying for the time we cannot get to the caravan, however the site can charge a SMALL fee for maintenance. I'm going to watch it again on plus 1. You can see I'm grasping on straws here, but there are many of us involved.Always have 00.00 at the end of your mortgage and one day it will all be 0's :dance:MF[STRIKE] March 2030[/STRIKE] Yes that does say 2030  Mortgage Free 21.12.18 _party_Now a Part Timer from 27.10.195

Snapped myself out of it last night! Dog walk on my own was enough, and back to normal this morning.
I've also decided to us this time to explore some different job roles for future. There is a chance that my job may go, or be severly altered. And I may not want to do it, so taking this an opportunity to think about a possible different direction for the next 15yrs of my working career. Where to start exploring, that is the main issue!
Maybe this niggling thing was my issue yesterday, but I'd sooner blame it on the kids!!!!
