We missed you SJ - your diary is inspiring and reassuring. We all have our issues, hence the empathy we feel for each other and when one of our favourites goes awol, it is like a little piece of our own journey is missing. Glad to see you back SJ!
I'd agree about the discipline and planning... but it doesn't agree with our need to constantly improve things!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Welcome back SJ! Though I'm late to the party
:money:
I agree your diary is inspirational - particularly in terms of the thoughtfulness and analysis you do. Love it.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
So nearly a NSD today until Mrs SJ bought some Christmas chocolates on the way home from work... but seeing as i've tucked in its totally acceptable.
I managed my return run following my calf issue tonight. A gentle 3 mile followed by a 2mile dog walk as a cool down. No ill effects felt so far.
And in other news which has yet to be revealed...I finish for Christmas tomorrow... 1 x 11hr day in work and then 3 weeks off :jMFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £47,736.58......0 -
Wow, some job you have, reading between the lines . . .
Oh, my sums are wrong - I thought for a moment there - you were Santa :rotfl:

Revealing news hasn't been signed off/finalised yet so it can stay as a mystery...
Last work day for 2018 today... just saying...MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £47,736.58......0 -
Last work day for 2018? Is that allowed?! I've still got 7 working days before I finish! How lovely!
Have you got a life-laundry review list for your break? you know, the 5 year and 10 year plans across socio-economic headings (says the woman who has wandered through life and still doesn't know what she wants to be when she grows up, but is stopping work in January)?Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

I'm just going back to work today after a long weekend, sure could get used to this, but have 12 days straight off after christmas eve
just saying . . .

I also have a secret(ish) which will be revealed after next pay day, which is early this month :jAlways have 00.00 at the end of your mortgage and one day it will all be 0's :dance:MF[STRIKE] March 2030[/STRIKE] Yes that does say 2030  Mortgage Free 21.12.18 _party_Now a Part Timer from 27.10.190 -
Suffolk i actually have a yearly period of self reflection and always during my Christmas break. Life is hectic and my job is pretty intense with periods of intense intense-ness (last week for example) where i have to react and deal with situations. So this Christmas break is always a good time and our big family decisions/directions get worked out here. We always seem to book a family holiday on Boxing Day! With a 5yr mortgage fix on the horizon i guess this will be a 1yr, 3yr and 5yr thinking period.
But back to Christmas holiday chatter. Can everyone keep a secret from Mrs SJ?? After 10+ years of having a long Christmas break she still hasn't realised that my holidays coincide with the darts starting... I
n my head Christmas is about the following; Darts, Worlds Strongest Man, Celebrations/Quality Street/Roses, Which is the best mince pie of the year contest, dog walks and beer... I'm sure the kids should feature in there, but they're knocking about all year!!MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £47,736.58......0 -
Only 2 things of note to report for today.
Firstly it was a NSD
Secondly it was my last day in work for 2018...just saying...wasn't sure if i'd mentioned it or not...
I'm determined to snooze more this Christmas (although snoozing more is my new year resolution every year and i always fail).MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £47,736.58......0
