Monday morning update...£1 TT'd to get the weekly pot off and running (I alaways have day 1 as Monday and then day 7 & OP day for TT pot as a Sunday).

Ebay was great last night in the end. Of the 23 new items i listed last Tuesday (those avid readers may recall that Tuesday was THE day) 12 sold for a profit of £18.65. We also have 6 items that have bids which end on Tuesday evening for a further £16.50. So overall 18 sales for £35.15 :j.

Standard Monday workday for me of 11hrs, and hoping to sneak a short run in at lunch. Got a 2 day conference Tuesday-Wednesday to (not) look forward to...!

Do you take into account all fees before calculating profit? I am trying to get back into a little antiques dealing, some items I put on eBay and make a profit but when I did it before I found I sometimes over estimated the profit so this time I'm going to try to set up a spreadsheet. Hopefully so all I need to do is write the figures in and it works it out for me.

Sounds like a long working week. :(

Yes to fees calcs Alex. Ebay is more about de-cluttering and non hoarding than money making for us. As it turns out we've always ended up with enough cash in the pot to pay for birthday parties and presents for the boys so its a win win.

Long day done and was very busy with losing the next 2 days to the conference. NSD which is always a positive though. Unfortunately i wasn't able to get out for a run but i have been on my feet regardless and ended up with 12,000 steps.

Managed to post the items that had been paid for, but typically as i'm stood at the post office counter i hear the tell tale ebay notification of payment received! They'll have to wait till Thursday now.

After a bumper MB week where i made £288 i bought Mrs SJ a necklace she been eyeing up so that should guarantee some good evening meals for a few weeks!!

Have to say everything is progressing nicely at SJ towers and my thoughts are turning to our potential Christmas celebration of breaking under the 100k barrier. I don't want to speak too soon but i'm 90% confident of reaching it. S burning question is how do we celebrate? All the previous 10k milestones have been a takeaway, but this should be more...??

AlexLK - try this link, doesn't take into consideration any special offers that may be on, though

Have been giving myself a hard time recently - for losing a bracelet and seeing the profit that is there for the taking once (if) someone (me) ever becomes an expert like you at MB.

I have been ebaying to within an inch of myself and beginning to see the rewards of all time spent listing. Can't lie though ~ has taken up a lot of my time, with a lot more still to do. Roll on Xmas and hopefully everything will sell.

Would be wonderful when you reach that target of under 100000.00K, maybe an item that matches Mrs SJ's necklace or sorts @ bracelet or ring perhaps? Then you could treat yourself to something you would like/need. Or a night away for both of you ??

Great results on the MB, jimmy!:T

Eebay here is also about getting rid of stuff here, rather than making money on something (although I have sold a decent amount of toys from my eldest 2 for the same money/' more money than they cost new - they get the money for them, though! Am sure sometime the return isn't worth the effort, but overall the little bits (and sometimes big bits) add up to decent amounts. As my lot get the money from toys (not clothes) it's also an incentive for them to regularly cull their no-longer-wanted stuff :)

Is there something of proportionate expense to a takeaway that you'd enjoy? e.g. if takeaway for reaching 10k milestone costs £30, is there something for £60 (or £150 / £300, whatever multiplier you'd like!) that feels extra special? After all, you'll only get two of these (one for sub-100k, one for 0).

Quick check in from conference. AFK I like the thought of nigh away, but no more jewellery...how much does anyone need...(tin hat at the ready)!

Hidden - proportionate expense is a really good way of looking at it and deserves more thought. I'd say 4-5x is deserving of a 25k bracket!

Green - our house is ruled by plastic s**t!

Well I should go away more often as that suggestion to wife about sorting her wardrobe has been done. She's sent me a picture of the charity pile...simply astonishing!!
