After a month off from decorating plans are afoot...

This weekend sees a resumption on 2 fronts. Firstly we'll be decluttering our bedroom which includes a whopping 24 drawers! The big declutter is to enable decorating next weekend. We will be ruthless!!

Secondly i'm going to tackle the garden fences! They need a bit of repair work with a few big nails and a hammer, then a good painting. I'm usually good with this but neglected it last year so they are desperate for some attention.

Now the sneaky reason i'm hiding outside is because our youngest will be starting potty training tomorrow and i'm staying well out of the way!

  • Hi ShangaJimmy

Just reading your diary, wanted to say "hi!"

I, like you want to clear mortgage in ten years.

Like you, just tackled a huge fence, and won.

Like you need to change energy provider. Currently with eon - fixed for one year, runs out on the 30th june. I like eon because I get cc points, and we shop there - however just at the time when little flc arrived, they recalculated my usage and upped my bill by £100 per month - not ideal.

So in a huff, I want to leave them.

Trouble is, finding a good deal with someone else.

    Anyway. "hi" and "good luck"

Thanks for the visit. My trick with energy is to send off meter readings on the 1st of every month, to hopefully prevent any nasty shocks! I've also signed up to the energy club so will hopefully get some nice reminders. I avoid the ones with exit penalties and the most recent swicth was only £1 per month more anyway.

As for the fence its currently a 0-0 draw but i have the psychological edge as i've bought the brush and paint..!

  • Great idea ShangaJimmy

I shall try the same. Obviously a new baby during the winter meant my heating would increase, I was disappointed that there was no communication until it was too late.

Any how - I shall try and find another company, one (hopefully) with cashback, and a cheaper rate.

TIP: Sneak up on the fence, take it by surprise - helped with mine.

What promised to be an eventful weekend has turned out to be not to so (for good reasons however). We we're potty training our youngest son and started on Friday morning. As you may recall i was planning to keep scarce and to be fair have had no involvement whatsoever...anyway he's taken to it very easily with no fuss . Within a couple of hours he was 'done', and now after the second night he was completely dry! For a variety of reasons we've done it a few months later than planned/thought and i reckon its made a huge difference as its that bit easier to explain things to him.

In other news, we've had more rain over night so the fence gets another reprieve, so i may well get that Fathers Day afternoon snooze... Tuesday evening is my next scheduled attack...!

OK so Fathers day didn't quite go according to plan given the vomiting bug that engulfed all bar me and the dog! So we've had many dog walks!

I've just listed a few things on ebay (new and relists) and am now going to put some thoughts down for my promised 6 month MFW update. After that its feet up, tea in my fathers day mug with my fathers day maltesers watching the golf until my eyes won't stay open any longer! For information our mini schnauzer is flaked out!!
