Thanks for the advice but i've given up trying things! After 30+ years i just accept that for the month of June i'm mega grumpy (and tired)! For about 3yrs a herbal method worked fairly well, but even that has given up. Amazingly even Mrs SJ is sympathetic with my plight!

I hope the hayfever eases soon - DH is also suffering quite a bit.

Hope the car purchase goes well. :)

Productive day all round. A few hours in work, but outside in the glorious sunshine. Then managed to buy the car (i think i've gotten a decent deal), then had a fathers day snooze!

Followed it up this evening by grouting all the patio with this brush in stuff that's very effective, cheap and easy to use. £18 and a good once a year job.

We sold 17 items on ebay this weekend, for £52.89, and i OP'd the weekly TT pot which was £5.76. Am shattered now so heading up for a shower and to watch the golf in bed until i fall asleep!

I have a few MB things going on in the golf and will be cheering Garcia on to finish 7th or 8th which will make me £180. If he finishes anywhere else i'm in for 45p, so a good risk free bet!

A quick post to confirm that this diary is a good omen! In the face of my return I've had an unexpected £214 refund from British Gas and this morning £98 from quidco, which i had totally forgotten about!

£1TT to start the weekly pot off. Bank account is looking slightly anaemic today but payday is Friday so all things improve. Unfortunately paying out day is next Monday, but to end on a positive MFW accounts posting is 12 sleeps away! Am looking forward to it as its the first one since Dec 16.

Car insurance re-quote is in for our multi-car policy and unfortunately its a good one. I say unfortunate as it means i'm unlikely to get any cashback!

A few little financials to report today. Firstly I made about £18 on MB from a couple of Ascot offers. Secondly i got round to OPing the £200 from British Gas refund (we're Sainsburys really as its cheaper, but the cash goes to and off British Gas). As we stand i'll be looking at an OP total of £843 which is an amazing start to restarting the diary. Lastly we've had 2 bids on our ebay relists that finish on Sunday.

Its 3 more sleeps to payday and new car. Its 9yrs old but only 41k miles on it (retired couple who basically used it for shopping). In readiness i sorted car insurance out and thankfully no administration charges for changing the car over. Our re quote does go up a little bit but there is an extra seat in the new car so to be expected I'll do a search and see if i can get it cheaper but im not expecting to £535 for a mutli car policy seems a good deal overall.

In non financials my hayfever has been atrocious now since Thursday and i have to say that i'm exhausted from it. Constant nose blowing and sneezing alongside very disturbed sleep is wearing me down! Considering a beach hut for the month of June next year!!

Great steps on the MB and ebay. I have recently sold my first three items on Ebay so feeling a little smug, but my efforts pale into insignificance compared with your mega number of listed items :rotfl:. Hope the hayfever is easing a little. My DH has been sneezing and snorting for days now too and is also leaving trails of tissues and nasal sprays in his wake, so I do sympathise.

Thanks Chumpy. We've only got so many items as we've got 3 kids that keep growing out of things far too quickly! We have found a good method that works...Mrs SJ sorts the clothes and then takes pictures on my ipad, for me to follow up and list a few items at a time when Mrs SJ is watching a horror film!

  • That OP pot is looking very healthy :)

Hubby is suffering with hay fever too, although luckily his eases a bit with the nasal spray and eye drops. Hope you find some relief soon.

Long day today, long week actually with hay fever so bad. 5p TT today and we have £41 left before Friday payday so I'd say we've made all our money work hard this month! Had another bid on an eBay item, so that's 3 definitely sold (96 to go!).

I have 46 miles of petrol left so I've managed my fuel quite well I think before returning the car on Friday morning! It really will have fumes left and I'm just hoping there's enough to get it up the big hill on the way! Quite excited now about new car, which definitely isn't like me as I've always viewed them as rust bucket money pits!
