To rationalise it I suppose 2yrs ago we'd have been overdrawn by £45, but not having OP'd by £600! So I can live with it for once.

£1 TT offset by a 10p roadkill, which we all know ends up in the small change OP jar!

Fingers crossed for great eBay sales. Sounds like you are surviving the run up to payday.

Well the countdown to normal life resuming has been slow but finally we have cash in the bank! We have a house full of germs at the minute and DS1 (7yrs) will miss his first day of school today!

Money wise it's been a tough month, with 4 nieces birthdays, 1 hen do and 2 passport renewals making it long and costly. The good part is it's now 6 days to accounts posting and 2015 comparisons. We're looking at a total OP fund of nearly £750 which will gives us a 2 brick month and drop us into a new 10k bracket. When I told Mrs SJ we would be in the 110's I have to say she was genuinely astounded and I even overheard her telling her brother and sister at the nieces birthday party on Sunday. I take this as a mini victory in engaging Mrs SJ!

Last week we had a 'complete' TT week of £7. By that I mean that the account was tidy every morning so I rewarded the mortgage with a whole £1 each day. I followed this with £1 yesterday as well. You can appreciate my disappointment at only having 6p to TT this morning!

So it's 6 days to our favourite time of the month! I really enjoy completing the line on the spreadsheet and changing the font colour to signify month done! I'm also hoping in 6 days the house can be germ free as Mrs SJ is now on day 11 of the cough and headache!

Morning Jimmy - sorry to hear about all your poorlies, hope they will on be well again soon.
Great news of the mortgage front though - you are doing a brilliant job of securing the future for your family, absolutely awesome.
It makes me chuckle that we all have little rules about how and when we Tilly Tidy and update our spreadsheets. Not sure if it is because we are all slightly sad or because this is how we get our kicks, rather than buying "stuff". Personally I Tilly Tidy on a Sunday after I have done the weekly shop and I round to the nearest £10 :rotfl:

Mrs SJ will certainly say it's because we're sad!

Ebay update - a further item has a bid (ends tonight), so that's another item out of the house and the birthday pot for DS2 in August starts! Happy to keep chipping away with the odd sale here and there. Mrs SJ keeps threatening to have a wardrobe clearout, so we'll see if it materialises!

I don't have children so forgive me if this is a daft question. Isn't 7 rather old for first day of school? Or is it 1st day at a new school?
