1899 Stealth Price Change

To my detriment, I discovered yesterday after spending approximately 3 hours online connected to an ISP in the US that 1899 has actually changed the price of calls to the US from 0p/min to 0.5p/min without sending any emails to their customers. Others calling the US be warned.
Do I want it? ......Do I need it? ......What would happen if I don't buy it??????

They alter rates from time to time; check the rates on the website.
Is there a particular reason to use a US ISP instead of a UK one?0 -

I just posted on this subject last night, if you can't get the rate announcement before your call (which obviously in this case you won't) then make sure you read this forum as any rate changes from 1899/18866 are invariably posted on here before their own websites.
Even if they did email customers with every single price increase what chance is there of people actually reading it?
edited to add this is the post here where the price change was a reduction.0 -

OTOH, 0.5p/minute is still cheaper than a Saturday call to an 0845 number - 1p/minute on BT.Their - possessive pronoun (owned by them e.g. "They locked their car").
They're - colloquial/abbreviated version of 'They are'
There - noun (location other than here e.g. "You can buy groceries there") OR adverb (in or at that place e.g. "They have lived there for years") OR adverb (to or towards that place e.g. "Go there at noon") OR adverb (in that matter e.g. " I agree with you there").0 -

Given that there's no way for an ISP to make any money at all, operating PAYG on an 01 or 02 number, any company which does so is completely mad. I'm surprised that Payless managed to find an 01 or 02 number for an ISP which still works.0

why is it so astonishing in this country and completely believable abroad?0
