NO Grafenwalder at LIDL

After buying cans of Grafenwalder at LIDL every week for over ten years, all of a sudden, they are not selling it!!! We all have different tastes, but for me, Grafenwalder simply tates better than Stella and beats all the weaker nonsense.
It annoys me very much when stores play around with their stock without any thought for the customers they will be letting down.
Since the purchase of said lager was my principle reason for visiting store, any money going from me to them, is going to diminish substantially.

It can be annoying when lines change in shops but shops will only stock the items that are profitable for them to sell. If the margins are low and they don't sell enough then it is not worthwhile for them to give it shelf space. They've probably come to the conclusion that they can use the shelf space for another product with a higher margin or that more people will buy.
I'm sure they'll be terribly sad to lose your custom, but it'll be a calculated loss.Common sense?...There's nothing common about sense!0 -

Items are only taken out of the range due to poor sales. That means they think something else will sell better therefore more people will buy whatever takes it's space. If you replace a poor selling product with something that sells better therefore pleases more people then that is obviously thinking about the customers! You can't make everyone happy.0 -
Unfortunately they're a business, so profit comes above the customers they're letting down.
That shelf space could be used to sell something they'd make more money on, or the manufacturer could have gone bust or discontinued the product.0 -

Not always down to poor sales, profitability taking into account discounts and supplier contributions is more often than not a major factor, sales volumes often plays a relatively minor part in the decision.
It's Lidl's own brand, so it seems a bit odd that they would stop selling it...

Is it really discontinued or just out of stock? The local one ran out of bananas one week and they used the space for something else! Sometimes things disappear from Lidl and reappear a few weeks later.0 -
Same with the W5 cream cleaner not the best of it's type but adequate for the price, there was a time when the shelves were full of it but it hasn't been stocked for months now. I did mention it on the questionnaire but still no stock.0

Bit rash when you don't if it will be back, ask in store if they know anything.0 -
Sorry a few extra details. The spot Grafenwalder used to occupy, has been replaced by bottles of Perlenbacher lager, BUT I don't think this works: the bottles are tall, heavy and (will be) more expensive. They do not fit into the fridge very well and THE TASTE IS JUST NOT ACCEPTABLE to me. Stocks of Grafenwalder have always shifted pretty quickly. My hope is that because of its quality and value, the Grafenwalder will be missed by many more than me and that, ultimately customers wants will have to be addressed. I intend to visit Lidl occasionally but obviously less often in the meantime.0
