which means they loose money.
Could someone translate this into English, please?'Never argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.' George Carlin0 -

yes i am not hpappy with ba i
am typing on my phone. if you
have a problem i dont care.
you are sucker anyway.
Have you actually read the responses to your thread about BA?
If you have, you will have realised that any complaint you may think you have is not actually against BA so if you really are going to complain I would rethink who that complaint should actually be addressed to.
Here's a clue:
it's not BA.
Was it the first time you've flown since 2001?0 -
The way I see it Argos aren't in the wrong. You no longer wanted the item you can't just demand they refund you because you no longer need it. They tell you their refund policies when you make a purchase. Maybe you should just exchange the item if they let you...after how you spoke to them seems unlikely...0

Just a friendly warning about returning (or buying in the first place) electronic equipment from Argos which is mostly exempt from their returns policy unless faulty.
As background, I spent a long time reading a lot of posts about this on this site and in particular this post from someone claiming to be a Manager at Argos: [excerpt]: "SomeGuy'The Argos 16 Day money back Guarantee.'[Big long rant ahead].Therefore, like many retailers Argos offer a money back guarantee as a goodwill, customer service gesture." and goes on to advise being polite and explaining the circumstances if you have a good reason for wanting to return something, and that the manager has discretion and might choose to allow the return if you're nice.
My Sister bought an iPod from Apple Store at Christmas, but last week drove over it whilst coming down with the flu. I asked the Apple Store if they might replace it and to their great credit they said they would. But in the meantime my Sister had hauled off and ordered one online at Argos (again; avoid) and gone and bought it. So I explained all this today to the manager at Argos, super nicely, and she said they didn't return them and even the manager didn't have discretionary power to allow it in special circumstances.
Therefore, either "Someguy" above lied in the post I quoted from about how nice Argos were if you were nice and respectful, or what their managers can do, or the manager at my Argos lied to me. Either way thats an Argos manager lying to me. So my Sister lost about £150, and anyone reading this in the future looking for advice, all I can say is: "Yes, they're not obliged to offer a refund, but ignore the rest of the forum saying be nice, because from my personal experience I'd have had more luck going when it was really busy, and SHOUTING at them and/or refusing to drop the request, until they refunded me if only to make me go away." As much as I hate that strategy, their lack of even compromising (partial refund etc) when I was being REALLY nice, makes me feel the need to warn you about the ineffectiveness of being nice when dealing with Argos.
If you're in a similar situation, good luck! If you're not, then go to the Apple Store instead.
And remember: You're SO MoneySavingExpert!
Maybe instead of offering 'a friendly warning' about Argos returns policy to posters on here, the OP should first educate his sister to read details when buying something from there to ensure she doesn't make any more silly mistakes in the future.
Oh - and a bit of advice about not acting too hastily might do her some good too.
There's only one person at fault here - that'll be the OP's sister.0 -
I work for Argos and I say you can pick anything up in your house, take it in to any store and the manager can give you £50. I mean anything!
Oh wait, there's no evidence I work for Argos (in fact, I don't) and this isn't a message that is formally communicated by the company. So why would you take it as truth?!
I mean, the manager *could* open the till and give you £50 in exchange for the item from your house, but he's not really going to.
Speak to someone in store, don't read an old internet post ad assume that will do.0 -

you are sucker anyway.I'm not sure it is the other posters with the problem dear Pragg. Argos, BA, anyone else you'd like to add to your list?
I think his phone manufacturer should be added to the list, no capitals and letters not in the correct placeIt's someone else's fault.0
