This thread has to be a wind up, surely?0

I find it hard to believe that anyone would rely on information that is 9 years old, given by a stranger on the internet , rather than just going on the Argos website itself to get the correct up to date information.0

i dont think the manager should be allowe d to send messages.
But the manager didn't send a message to anyone.
What he did was to post information on this forum almost 10 years ago.
At the time the comment from the manager was posted, it may well have been correct in that the store managers had more leeway in accepting returns of items that fell outside of their returns exclusion policy.
Why would any sensible person use 10 year old, third hand information when considering buying an expensive item from a shop? That's almost as bad as people who fly with BA and blame the airline when airport security don't allow water to be taken through the checkpoint.0 -

Why?
Even if the poster concerned still works for Argos, they haven't posted on MSE in over 9 years so they might not have access to their account. They might not even be alive any longer).
You make it sound like you think that Argos are responsible.
They didn't post the information, and they certainly didn't make someone look up a decade old post and think that because something might have been true 10 years ago then it must still be true today.
Whatever happened to personal responsibility and being accountable for one's decisions and actions?0 -
