how do u not get drained

Like you Pisces260290 I started entering a few comps per week from the main MSE comping board last October. In November I won tickets for an event I could not attend so did not claim. Then over the next three months I started entering more comps from the regular comps board. I won three prizes in February.
As everyone is saying it is a csee of luck and following tips on this chat forum I have increased the number of comp I am entering.
As last post it is down to your mind set. I see it as a hobby but do keep going by reading this competition chat forum and occasionally looking at what people are winning.
I never cease to be amazed by the generosity of the people posting competitions on this forum. Just imagine how long it would take an individual to find so many competitions.
Big thank you to everyone who posts comps and checks for spam etc.0 -
I would never voluntarily chose to do something that drained me. Ever. Work drains me sometimes but that is a necessary evil. Comping is supposed to be a bit of a fun, a bit of a gamble - you invest a bit of time and maybe, just maybe you win something nice.
I often get nights where I think 'stuff it' and I do something else instead. Life is far, far too short to waste time on something with no guaranteed return if it feels like it is sucking the life out of you.
I often think that some people who come to comping for the cash would be far better off investing their time into the 'Boost Your Income' board. That's not having a dig at newbie compers by any means. When you look at the people who month after month earn, one way or another, £10 a day it is dooable and far more reliable than comping. I know that if I was ever unable to work and needed extra cash I would invest my time in that first before I comped. I get that this hobby is more exciting but when you work out the time invested to the returns gained it isn't logically worth it in most instances. It's the thought of the big one that keeps a lot of us comping.Comps £2016 in 2016 - 1 wins = £530 26.2%

You will only feel drained if you are taking comping too seriously ie, neglecting your family life, comping when you are overtired AND focusing too much on why you aren't winning.
You will enjoy comping so much more if you enter when you can and forget about winning. This way you will discover that when a winning email does appear in your inbox, or a prize parcel at your door, you will feel so much happier and rewarded for the time you put into your hobby
Treat comping as a hobby and enjoy!:TA big thanks to all who post and sprinkling lucky dust to all who enter :smileyhea0 -
I never even think about the entering anymore; I've been doing it for a while now and have really gotten used to it and the continuity of it, it's more of a subconscious thing that I do now. I never feel drained, and if I ever did start to feel that way then it really wouldn't be worth it. Like sax said, if you already feel that way, maybe it isn't for you! But good luck and I hope you start enjoying it :A0

Exactly this, I comp quite a lot but very much have the attitude that if I miss a few days then it makes no difference
In a similar way that if I am on holiday I do not do any at all - not a dig at those who do just my personal thing
Enjoy it but see it as something you may get a benefit from not an obligationJuly 2015 Wins- Shaun The Sheep Goody Bag, 4x Books

Comping is a hobby for me so it never gets boring, I know it is sad but i enjoy it. The reward is seeing my name next to the words WINNER/Congratulations and then the postie bringing me my prize. 50 comps a week? I do about 200 a day min. The best thing is it is a FREE hobby and can be rewarding not just from winning prizes but making friends. I have been very lucky to make about 50 comping friends over the last 24 months.Jan Wins: .0

If you are feeling drained then sadly its not the hobby for you.
I do somewhere around 140 a day and I think that's low numbers.
Had no prizes/wins since Jan. But for me its the possibility of winning.63 mortgage payments to go.
Zero wins 2016 😥0 -
