is there a time frame that has to be observed between when buying travel cash and when going on holiday? ie, can you get cash now, for instance and go on holiday in two months time? obviously, while rates are pretty good, this is quite a good time to get cash exchanged.
  • Off to lanzarote next May (16) Booked and paid a small deposit for the hotel, but now deliberating, with the £ being so strong, should I pay off the full amount (~ 2500 euros)

    Any advice much appreciated

    Thanks

Could you buy the Euro's now and hold them?
    Cash? Security risk?
Can you open a Euro account with your bank?
If you pay up front and the hotel goes pop ........
  • Thanks JB

The hotel has received rave reviews over the years so cant really see that going bump

    (open mouth insert foot...) :rotfl:

Your right, buying the cash now would probably be the best answer but at the expense of a lower rate

Think ill just pay it off now

If the Euro were to sink further you would kick yourself.

Could you pay the balance by credit card? In fact, even if you only paid a deposit by card you would still be protected for the full amount if the hotel were to fail.
