Website looks incredibly dated but does all I need.
    Some would say timeless.
Hopefully it means they're not wasting money on trendy web designers.

I've also recently read this Monevator article.

Not only timeless but hopefully helps avoid overtrading as well.

Having now calculated quite how much I can save with iWeb, I wish I'd investigated it sooner so it's been a very good thing finding this post about the pending price rise to spur me into action.

  • I think there will be a huge lot of complaints going into the financial ombudsman regarding Iwebs 3900% increase ? and especially how they have not made this clear to new customers as was the case with me last week.

If you miss the deadline of 16th march as stated on their website then i think you are stuffed. My paper work went into them by post so dont know how i stand. However will be on the phone to them 1st thing Monday and i dont like what they have to say will be cancelling everything with them. Its a stupid increase.

If it was posted before the charge was announced then it surely would have arrived within 10 days?

It's a massive increase but is very clear on their website for anyone applying.

Why did you apply by post? It's an on-line service.

Their existing customers aren't affected by the increase and they made an advanced announcement of the coming increase so that anyone who wanted to join at the current price has a chance to do so - or not. How could anyone complain?
  • Not for the SIPP as it was a SIPP transfer. It seems i am ok,maybe, as the post did arrive and i already had a share dealing account so apologies to all.

"A £25 account opening charge applies for the first account you open – if you’re adding a product to your existing account then this won’t be applicable. Please note: we are increasing the account opening charge to £200 from 16th March. "

Question: if you transfer in an ISA containing some shares, ETFs, or funds, do you pay an iWeb trading fee for each one or are they transferred free of charge (assume that any funds you hold are also available through iWeb)? So, do you have to bother with consolidating them into one fund or even cash, before the transfer?

I'm transferring in-specie but am trading the funds to the ones I'll want long term before they get moved.

It's impossible to apply at the moment, as it's impossible to tick the confirmation about reading and understanding the terms and conditions.
