UKIP political mail

I've been getting a little annoyed with actual mail coming from UKIP. who aren't subject to the same rules as the other three parties. I haven't done this yet so I don't know how effective it'll be, but it may be useful to someone looking to be proactive.

Apparently if they contact you directly (by name) you can request that they cease by citing section 11 of the data protection act (which does cover this kind of political canvassing as long as it's to you or other, by name). See here for cease letter examples.

Don't use the free return envelope to mail your request.. it won't get where it wants to be, which is here: UKIP, Lexdrum House, King Charles Business Park, Newton Abbot, Devon TQ12 6UT
or here: mail@ukip.org

I hear people have been filling the free return envelopes with all kinds of stuff. I would never advocate that.

or, instead of spending time doing that you could spend 5 seconds putting it straight into the bin/shredder.

I'm not on the open electoral register and I'd prefer not to receive personally directed mail from UKIP (or any hateful bigots). Why would I not just request that they don't contact me at all? I'm clearly not as pressed for time as you are.

Incidentally, it did go straight in the bin.

Do you not get political mail from the other parties? I've certainly had flyers from Labour before.

Part of the Furniture I've been Money Tipped! First Post Name Dropper
I remember a few months back the window cleaner knocked on my door to ask for the money owed. I went to get it, came back and then she started going on about immigration and Asian people. I told her to go away and shut the door. I thought it was just incredibly random but then I looked down at the floor and I had a BNP leaflet on the floor which someone must have put through my door.

She must have thought I was a BNP supporter!

So I don't like receiving party leaflets as people associate you with the party!

no need to be curious , I can make up my own mind (and ask questions) without being bombarded with half truths.

The amount of crap I get from Lieber (thats for you quietriot) is unbelievable, and most of it is lies.

    Straight in the bin.

Let's hope the party of your choice doesn't then blow it by sending an unsolicited piece of mail or knock on your door.
