    Probably not the best way to do it, but we check for switches/plugpoints and if we are working near them we simply take them off the wall and check which way the wire goes :D

    Now all being well this wont cost a lot to repair.

    I daren't actually test to see if the power is still working from the supporting plug socket or if it was the arial that was hit. :(

    If you are not sure which you hit, so long as the power is off it is fairly easy to tell the difference. If it is power it should be a grey wire, rectangular, with three cores, if it is coax it will be brown or black, circular, and you might see some copper mesh where you have drilled :)
