Buying a Ford Fiesta

Well don't forget it's the Titanium model, top of the range back then so the price will reflect that. I'd still haggle though, what have you got to lose?
Has climate control, automatic wipers/lights, cruise control, privacy glass and 16" wheels over the other models, might be worth a look in case the previous owner went mad on options as well.0 -

That's manual - I'm after an automatic. Too far away from me too unfortunately.0

I'm a 'he' by the way!
I'm certainly not looking at finance - I have £3400 ready with the rest being from a bank loan.
However you dress it, it's still finance. If you are looking at loaning £2k-£3k a bank loan may not be the cheapest, they tend to offer the best rates to £5k+ amounts.
Depending on the rate, dealer finance may actually be a cheaper option with the possibility of a discount as the dealer gets a kickback from the finance company.
Another option is an interest free credit card, although a dealer will charge a percentage to accept one.
Which ever way you go, pay the deposit on a credit card for the extra protection, if the car turns out to be a lemon.Anyway, the 11 reg is now sold along with about 3 other Fiestas I was interested in! I'm looking at the 09 Fiesta (one with 53,000 miles) tomorrow.
Also, Evans Halshaw informed me that another Fiesta came in yesterday. An 09 reg Fiesta Titanium 1.4. Its done 25,464 miles and costs £6491.
Now, I can pay £1500 extra and get the one with the low mileage or I can go with the cheaper one which has done 53,000 miles but will mean the bank loan will be smaller (i.e taking out a smaller amount which means it would be paid off quicker).
Good Fiestas that aren't overpriced won't hang about, there's a reason they are Britain's best selling car.
To me £6.5k for a six year old Fiesta is madness, you could buy a basic brand new car for that money, or a newer decent car still under warranty.0 -

The same thing struck me, but then he wants an automatic, think it would be hard to find an automatic for about that price.
Did a quick Google and the Hyundai i10 automatic starts at £10000, & Dacia don't seem to do one.0 -

One of the rules of selling a CAT C/D car surely should be the requirement to spell the word category correctly?Oldbury_Motor_Trade wrote:catagary c0 -
The more I think about it the more I think I should go for the Fiesta at 53,000 miles. Seems reasonably priced and it's from a local dealer with a good reputation.
Did see some I liked on the Arnold Clark website but they're too far away. Just a shame they don't offer a service where they can move a car closer.0 -

Micra with 400 miles on the clock.
12 plate Fiesta Zetec
61 plate Fiesta Titanium for £7k
All around the same price as the six year old one.0 -

He is correct, the EcoBoost is quite a engineering marvel, it's a three cylinder 1.0 engine with a turbo (the important bit). It fits on a A4 bit of paper. They come in two models, a 100BHP and a 125BHP, I have the 125BHP one. The 1.6 Fiesta engine was the Sigma engine (aka Zetec or Duratec) which produced about the same.
Car Tax is Free and it's cheap to insure (paying £220 a year fully comp), but I am 46 with full NCB and no points. But this is in Northern Ireland which is pricey.
And it's a cracking wee engine and the car itself is well built and great to drive.
The only bad thing? The dealer probably told you it does 65MPG. I'm getting half that.
Thanks for that. The wife likes them, so we might test drive one over the weekend.0
