Cancelling Sky in my husband's name and taking it out in mine, could this trip me up?

We've been trying to negotiate a discount on our Sky bill but they're not really offering anything that will leave us any better off. On the other hand, if you sign up as a new customer through Quidco you get £160 cashback, 25% off tv packages and £75 credit.
We've been pondering this all day and now my brain is fried - is there any reason that doing this would trip us up? Would I bit hit with a huge set up bill, or end up without broadband (a big no no due to work)?
OR is it absolutely a no brainer? Any thoughts please?

Same surname, same address.
You will not be classed by them as a new customer.0 -
Surely I will if I set up my own account in my own name with my own (different) bank account details?0

As already said, you have the same surname and same address so Sky will see it as the same household and won't give you new customer deals.
If you want to get a deal then cancel Sky and wait until retentions call you with an offer.0 -

And you will have a gap in service. Sky aren't daft, they're well aware of this dodge. No free lunch, and no free laptop0
-
As per jem16 - cancel the TV part (but NOT b/band & phone) and just wait for Retentions offers to come thru' -you MAY have to be without the TV for a couple of weeks or more to get the best offers -if you are out of min. contract term for phone/b/band then you should be able to negotiate on the whole package.:)0

Which the OP did nothing to correct so likely to be correct - and yes that's another assumption.0 -
Cancel the service and be prepared to do without for a few weeks.
I cancelled and they called back a couple of days later offering me 50% off.
If you're willing to try and get Sky fraudulently then you're going to be without Sky for a week or two anyway0 -

Blimey, calm down dear.
I was only trying to help the little lady with her questions.0
