    Not declined yet, then?

Ah well, you never know. Is the PDL activity visible on your Equifax file? If it isn't, they wont see it.

RBS Group has always been Equifax focused and AFAIK it would have been an Equifax search.

Saying which, nothing seems set in stone these days, so I'm reluctant to commit to anything...

There are three credit reference agencies (CRAs) - Equifax, Experian and Call Credit.

Much as they would love you to think each one is omniscient, some lenders give information to only one of them and takes information from only one of them.

So, it's possible you have a credit commitment which will show on only one version of your credit file.

If you are smart, or you have a smart broker, you/they work out that from mortgage lenders A, B & C, if B only takes data from the CRA which shows you in the best light, you apply for a mortgage from B.

For example, Kensington takes data from Call Credit alone. If your Call Credit file is better than others, you would have an improved chance of success by making your mortgage application to Kensington.

If anyone reading this is paying for the daft/pointless "credit score" from any of the CRAs, stop now as you are wasting your money!

... or MSE is wrong, a broker with thirty years experience knows more or Experian and Cal Credit haven't yet updated to reflect the search?

    Who knows?

Last year I personnally took out pay day loans to increase my credit score

Why did you need to 'improve' your credit score?

Also are you saying that you borrowed money that you DIDN'T need?
