If you go through the Ipswich to Stratford-St-Mary section after 20:00, you will notice plenty of workers setting-up to start work.
The works are over a 10 mile stretch due to the contra-flow that is placed into operation. This is the minimum gap between open gaps in the central reservation.
As for the average speed cameras, the ones at the Brentwood end are part of a scheme to reduce the accident rate on that stretch.
They will also be installing the same on the section between Capel St Mary & Copdock for the same reason.
The speed limits on the road works are in force 24/7, so watch your speed.Never Knowingly Understood.
