    Hi all,
Why me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So we both pulled out a day before Mortgage valuation. Basically I also wanted a HBS done and he refused due to work commitments and also wouldn’t let the EA have the keys because of her pets.I even suggested weekend and it was a NO AM BUSY. He is happy to give 30mins of his time for the valuation to be done but not the HBS. He is not happy to take the time off work for a 2-3hrs HBS.
I said if I can’t do my HBS then am not happy to proceed and he said fine. The EA also told him that they not happy to continue marketing the property because of what has happened.
Am happy to spend my money to carry out the HBS on the property so the least I expect is access.
So am back to square one L
  • Hi All,

We found our house, a new build, and reserved it at the beginning of March.
Spoke with MA, discussed all the options and chose a Natwest HTB Deal.

17/3/15 - AIP with Natwest. This is when they did a 'hard' search as showing as Table 1 on my Equifax report.

25/3/15 - Me with MA. Provided bank statements, wage slips, P45 from previous employment.

31/3/14 - Full application submitted. This shows as a table 2 search 'subsequent or follow up information'.

Hadn't heard from MA or Natwest. Tried to contact MA to contact Natwest but he hasn't responded.

I was getting a bit restless as you can imagine being a FTB. So I phoned Natwest (I know I shouldn't have).

They told me it had been through the underwriters, and a valuations has been instructed today.

Just waiting on a valuation date, but I assume this to be good news? As others have said, they wouldn't instruct a valuation if it hadn't been approved surely?

I'm at the end of my tether with Natwest and their surveyor Connells.

Survey instructed 27/03 - appointment only made 02/04 for 07/04!

Survey was not done yesterday, surveyor and agent blaming each other for not making appointment.

    Survey now instructed for 13/04!!!

Hurray mplunk! We got ours in the post today too. Makes it so real as until now we only had our broker's word for it (aside from me ringing NatWest on Saturday of course!) and this is the hard evidence. Broker said that whilst technically they can still take it back, in practice this pretty much never happens and in our case there's nothing in our histories or potential likely behaviours to trigger an issue. Now the only potential link to go wrong is our homebuyers survey and/or the seller pulling out, both of which are unlikely to cause problems.

Vok - Oh no, how frustrating! Wow, I wonder what they had to hide? Interesting the agent dumped them although I don't blame them. How peculiar. I bet you will always wonder now. I'm sorry it has fallen through but it sounds like a narrow escape unfortunately.

Simon - Yes, that is good news if the valuation has been instructed. It seems like NatWest is one of those lenders who get the finances in order first.

gagahouse - There was a delay with our valuation too, apparently normally it is only a few days but it was a week for us.

9/3 - DIP submitted and approved, full application sent
16/3 - Extra payslip plus clarification requested
20/3 - Confirmed received the above items
24/3 - Confirmed happy with out finances
    31/3 - Survey took place
4/4 - Offer confirmed (Easter weekend)
8/4 - Offer received in the post

Just waiting on searches and our own homebuyer's survey now, which should be done in a few weeks as the surveyor is away (grrr) We've asked to exchange last week in April with a view to completing 11th May or thereabouts.

    Hi,

    Maybe someone can help?

    I am a FTB and i am 23.

I am currently applying for a mortgage with NatWest (who I bank with) through a broker - My docs been registered now on their system and now waiting for an underwriter to look at the case.

I have 2 missed payments and 1 default for £100 (although for some reason it doesn't show on my equifax credit file) Has anyone been accepted to them with with adverse credit on here?

I have £40,000 deposit so im hoping they will accept it.
    prob not though. :(

Oh gosh it's house moving day :)
Feeling rather excited but at the same time sad and nervous to be leaving the home I grew up in .... silly me lol
  • Hi all, newbie here too, were FTB, luckily with very little outgoings and no dependants. Staying with my parents while the process happens.

Currently awaiting the outcome of our mortgage application. Our timeline is as follows:

Middle of Feb met MA, Gave her all our details, payslips etc. - affordability passed. AIP received for Santander.
End of Feb: put in 3 offers on a house, all refused - back to the drawing board
14/03: Viewed a house, with potential. Owners father was there so we couldn't get a proper look around!
21/03: Second viewing, much better... Decide to put an offer in.
24/03: first offer refused - it was 10.5k, under but you have to try!
26/03: second offer put in - refused within 10 minutes!
27/03: final offer placed and refused. £1k under what she wanted, £6k under asking. EA is frustrated and takes the vendor 'window shopping' to get her on board
30/03: offer accepted! We visit our MA who has all our paperwork ready to submit our mortgage application with Natwest (was a better fit for us, I bank with them and have multiple incomes)
    02/04: MOPS received

We're still playing the waiting game. I contacted my MA yesterday to see if the was any progress. All I can do is worry, my partner works for an estate agent and keeps telling me horror stories of properties falling through
