Hi fellow “Natwesters”,
How are our nerves doing? Mine is off the charts. Honestly I just want my life back now, all this waiting is killing me slowly. Lol!
Where are we all with our applications? I haven’t heard a word from Natwest since my application went in last week Monday (23/03/15). But am trying to look at the positive side and take it that “no news is good news”.

Hope your nerves are holding ok Vok
I think ours took a week a half to hear after we had all documents in. Which after speaking to our mortgage advisor yesterday he said we was through in usual time, he thought it would be longer with them saying they have delays.
Still feeling rather on edge myself as still dont have a date to move in. The vendors want it to be next friday but its all down to the MOD due to the loan we have had from them, and they arent very forth coming with information0 -
Finally I can post.. So my full application has been submitted with Natwest via a broker... It is the most nerve racking thing ever, I can't wait for this to be over. We have applied for a 95% HTB mortgage not EL. Fingers crossed the asked for more bank statements from my partner which we had submitted to the broker however they had only submitted half of it on accident. How long do they take to underwrite? Everyone is telling me not to worry but i am and will continue to do so until we get that official offer.0

Hi C.Redfern.
Gosh, next Friday is not far at all. Have you got everything else ready to go?
Its looking likely that mine might take as long as yours (I hope not though), lol.
How was the process like for you? Did they ask for more documents after submitting the ones required with the application? With my application I submitted 3months pay slip, 3 months bank statements, P60 and passport. Also did Natwest ever call you directly or just MA?
Thanks and good luck with yours.0 -
I know I feel more stressed now cause we literally may not know until a day or two before. We're first time buyers going from living with parents so not much to take and the vendors are moving in with parents whilst they do up the house they have purchased so have already moved most of their stuff. That's the chain complete.
No they didn't that's everything we had to send and our mortgage advisor said that's generally all they ask for. They never asked for any more, the mortgage advisor advised us to take Feb statement in as we didn't have it when we first went in, she then faxed this over a couple of days after our full application before they had requested them. What delayed ours was they couldn't read the faxed copy as it was to pale but we didn't know that till my mortgage advisor chased on the Friday. So she posted them first class on the Friday they received on the Monday and accepted us on the Tuesday.0 -
Vok - with ours we had to submit the same as you, but they came back once they started processing (a week from application) and asked for last March's payslip. This is only because my husband's pay package is unconventional and they wanted to see how the March payslip compared to the P60 for that year. With most people they'd be pretty similar but his is complicated so it wasn't. Think they were just cross-checking. Anyway, once we sent that off, they confirmed they'd received it three days after the broker sent it, and two working days later we'd passed underwriting.
We've never spoken directly to NatWest for anything, it's all been through our broker who has been great. There's a lot to be said for independent local brokers!
Good luck c.redfern - can't believe you're still facing stress right up to the very last minute! I imagine we will be too - the (independent) surveyor we've been recommended isn't available until week commencing 20th April and of course we don't want to exchange before the survey is back as you know only too well!
Our valuation was yesterday - we should hopefully hear tomorrow about how that went, or it won't be until Tuesday due to the Easter weekend. I am not sure my nerves can take the stress of that..
Princessladonna - everyone tells us not to worry too - that's easier said than done! There is far too much at stake. Ours is also a 95% HTB non-equity but so far it has gone well, touch wood.0 -
I know cant believe its still so stressful if not more so at this point lizards.
We could be in next friday but may not know until thursday, so no time to find anyone for removals etc. We have put a deposit down on a sofa but cant give them the go ahead to make it until we know when we are going to be in, incase its ready to early cause they wont store it and they isnt space for it to come here.0 -
Our broker went off already from today till Tuesday despite emailing me yesterday saying he's hoping to have news today... never mind I guess. So I called natwest myself and a very nice chatty lady told me it's with the offers team and we shoud get it in the post next week. :T I assume it means we've got the offer
I'm not gonna believe it I think until I'm holding it in my hands though
new horror scenarios in my head are like some sort of conditions on the offer...

Hi All,
Random question here.
Did any of you use Natwest for your Homebuyers survey or did you use an independent Surveyor?
Thanks0 -
We are using Natwest. They have already instructed Connells to do the survey.0
