I get my boss his newspaper on the way to work so decided that avoiding a store because of one person is abit extreme when goodness knows how many work there. So I bought the paper and 2 bags of typhoo tea bags and some shower gel. I get to the checkout then the nasty supervisor clocked me, she calls over her buddy.

she comes up and I say look at what I have bought and can you scan whatever you are willing to take. On 6 shower gels and 2 hand wash she would only take one h&b - but she took 2 x £1 tetley vouchers - stating that because the h&b is bogof and the tetley is bogof but not tesco specific vouchers she could take more ?? - I paid. I went to do 2nd transaction, she says "I am being blunt you are abusing the system" - I state that this is for my mum and hence seperate transaction. she's giving me evils, I am shaking like a leaf and quickly get my stuff and go. I had bought all the products for the coupons but apparently if you are doing 2 seperate shops in one store that is abusing the system !

On the way to the office feeling a tad disheartened I popped in to another store and restored my faith in the nice tesco staff that are around.

I got work and my colleagues made me a tea of cup and gave me a copy of the Grocer to shut me up !

as for the horrible store - I am not going back there again - I dont need the hassle.

    Welshy x
My local shop banned you from splitting shopping and using coupons. I used to have to do one shop, go outside to the car then go back in and do another.
Then this horrible employee made it his mission to follow me round the store. I'd be looking at stuff and he'd come up with a walkie talkie and say "I'm watching her now"
As I knew I was doing nothing which needed watching (I was hardly stealing now was I, when i had an envelope full of coupons) I just ignored him, which knew annoyed him more. I did contemplate reporting him, but is that opening up a can of worms?????

That tesco have no stopped accepting coupons due to abuse. (Not from me I might add, due to people giving in coupons from asda/morrisions/somerfield/DM book tokens or what have you.

I now have to travel further afield or stock up when travelling further afield. have had a great summer hols. Every long day out we have had we have incorporated a visit or five to tesco. I reckon I have shifted about£300 - £400 worth this summer holidays. My cupboards are stocked with jars of urry/pasta sauce, bags of rice and pasta tins of salmon tuna and corned beef, biscuits, crisps, peanut butter, washing powder, conditioner etc etc. All non perishables. Also bought new sheets for our bed and some presents for the kids to put away. I'd rather get shut of them all and have few to use than look at a prospective several hundred quids worth of coupons I've never used!

Welshy are you North or south wales? if North any chance you could let me know which are best stores to use as we're off to wales next month. I have used a couple but do not want to name them on here (wink)

After being stopped the other day, in a store where i often get stopped, but take the risk now and again because i'm banned from there. I was leaving empty handed (HandB wise) when this burly security guard jumped at me and asked me to accompany him to the office. "Why" i said, "because of whats hidden under your coat in the trolly."..."What is hidden under my coat" i said, he then removed my coat and said "look...those", i said "but yes,,,it says on the box they're free"......."mmmm" he said "yes it does...but youre only meant to take one", "ok" i said so I took one, gave him the box and walked out.....His manager stood there flabbergasted.

Its a store i dont use much, not in my immediate area......and wouldnt bother me if i didnt go there again...
:rotfl: :rotfl: Leadhead I have just called my OH upstairs to read this post. You really are priceless!!:T I'd have been quaking in my boots!

if your mobile phone can receive signal in that tesco, when that horrible staff follows u around with a walkie talkie, make a call and stand right next to him, saying to the phone, "there is a wacko stalking me in tesco, i m going to take pic of him and post it on youtube." :D

The SEL for both sizes was £2.19 ..... I bought the 500ml one...thought I might have got charged more IYSWIM.

sorry to be thick, i can never the get the maths right. :o

    200ml - £2.19
    500ml - £2.19

there can only be 2 scenario:

    1. 200ml is mispriced, it should be cheaper than £2.19.
    2. 500ml is mispriced, it should be dearer than £2.19.

so if i buy a 500ml at £2.19, i m paying less than what it should be, how to DTD?

Thanks Dee, I always knew I would be stopped for "shoplifting" free Quits, as i know i look suspicious when "taking" coupons, so had my story prepared....still annoyed he only allowed me to take one though.

That reminds me though, they should have been removed from the shelves by that date, wonder if theyre still on display, must pop in today...................................with a bigger coat.....

I wasn't "quaking!" because I knew it said "free"...Ive got a long history in this store after beating the manager over a free PS2 bundle, after HO told him to give me it , in the good old RnR days...he banned me....
    Couponing....."every little hurts"

Half of the people can be part right all of the time, Some of the people can be all right part of the time.
But all the people can't be all right all the time. .........I think Abraham Lincoln said that.

i haven't had chance to read all the way through this thread as there is just so much to read. however from the few that i have read there seems to be a similar worry/concern about going to the right cashier who will take all your vouchers off. the best way to avoid this where possible (as it is not available in all stores yet) is to go through the self service tills as they are not checking what the vouchers are for. after you scan about half a dozen a message will come on the screen for self service assistant to over-ride the amount of coupons going through and then you can carry on scanning the rest through. easy peasy.

How I wish this was true. Where I live, the various Tescos that do have self scanners, have programmed them to seek authorisation each and every time a coupon is used. I used a ss yesterday and the SA told me that they have done this as they are very fed up with people paying for nearly all of their shopping with coupons. So I think its just a matter of time before this gets rolled out to all the other self scanners. I'm not judging anyone when I say this. Just wanted to point out that not everyone has an easy time of it and its not as easy to do as it is for some people. Even the self scanners at our various Asda stores have paper over them now and won't allow you to use them without checking with SA in advance. I couldn't find an SA anywhere in store to check the price of an item but as soon as I brought out a coupon, I had THREE SA's appear from nowhere and take my one coupon off me, to examine the authenticity of it as apparently too many people are using too many internet and photocopy ones!!

I can just imagine his face, would be soooo funny to do this.

Had my first bad shop in months today. As im trying to use up all my pink H&B ones this week Im doing quite a few more shops than normal but not using CC, anyway went to a woman who I've been to before and she says we can only take 3 vouchers now per shop, so I says oh they usually just take them and scan them to see if they'll go through, never mind. So she says well I'll just take the 3 biggest ones, thats it. Oh well will now be sticking to my other localish stores now, who have the policy 2 of each if you've bought it and 1 of each if not. Which I think is just lovely!

I was hoping that £2.19 was the correct price for the 200ml... and that when the 500ml I bought went through the till at a possible higher price than the £2.19 SEL then that would earn a dtd. I'm thinking that the 500ml is incorrectly priced lower. Hope this makes it a little clearer! :D

    yes, it does make sense.

if i buy a 200ml one, then maybe it is possible to DTD.
