  • when they try to scan 2 itentical coupons one after the other, they have to wait a couple of seconds before it will work ... it's to stop the same coupon being scanned twice in error. I've explained that to them a couple of times and asked them to try it again and it goes through fine then. I tried mixing the vouchers up today, but the lady just sorted them all neatly out before she scanned them ... they still went though ok though
How to tell the difference between Ant and Dec? ... Dec is nearer the deck
  • Does anyone have any spare SB coupons and no HB (with points)? I have some to swap (on PTS of course!) ;) - PM me if interested

Try asking the SA to try the hand scanner...although i cant see why two wont go through on the normal scan if theyre seperated...Ive used multiples tonight...no bother.

Not sure ifits just my tescos, but had a fairly successful shop tonight, but it wouldnt take 2 x Quit coupons. the till beeped funny and he handed me one back. Should have done, as I bought 2 x tresemme, and shower gel. Just wondering how you peeps get two coupons through.

Did you spend over £10 and what other coupons did you use

Is that 2 Tresemme and 2 SG's you bought,,,

if the answer to the first is yes, then it looks like the hand scanner was needed....I dont think the individual store can programme its tills so finely....so its possibly either an operator error or a till fault.....Dont you know anyone on here who also uses that store.

  • I have been to a store tonight which stated firmly and categorically that tesco policy was that mocs had to be used when the item is actually purchased. I of course put a different view point across but no joy and it wasnt worth pursuing it at that time.
Secondly they the SA and till supervisor would only take one of each coupon i.e. QP and H&B, but i knew i was buying an expired BOGOFF anyway, so again didnt push it.
Finally i went to customer services to get a DTD refund which works out as a R&R due to BOGOFF at £10.48 and all of a sudden the yellow SEL for my product (there were 3 different types wasnt there!! Fortunately i had a forum friend (who had bought 2 different versions of the products, which they (CS) didnt realise) before they produced 2 yellow tickets claiming we hadnt bought the correct type of product.
My friend pointed out that she had a match for one of the SEL's, the CS then went on to explain that Tesco now only refund your overcharge not dtd. I asked for proof of said policy to no avail.
Anyway we both ended up better off as i got refunded full price and handed the items back, even though i used £4.50 coupons.
But i cant stand  the blatent lies, cheating and inconsistency, is there anything formal we can refer to about pricing or moc's????

Thanks for the advice in anticipation

PM me if you want to know the misprice, i dont want to identify myself to the store if poss.

Its really annoying when stores don't have the same policy! As its been said here loads of times Tesco's policy is that the have no policy! As for Tesco not giving you dtd..... that is wrong....it is still the policy and up in black and white behind their CS desks! Sounds like you got a crap load of lying SA's!
  • Well, the good news is I have finally found some H&B after getting some from lovely peeps on PTS and buying some on eBay. But I am finding it harder and harder to use them, today's store were only going to take 3 coupons  . Anyway, I have put some bundles together of coupons I will not be able to use on the PTS Giveaway thread, just asking for SAE in return.

  • I have got bored of buying a trillion Lynx so changed tack today and had a go at the Shockwaves which is on £3 for 2 and Nicky Clarke stuff which is on bogof.

    I bought the following:

    4 x Nicky Clarke hairspray at £4.28 each = £18.12

(for some reason the till is taking £5.49 off)

    5x cheap 21p toothpaste = £1.05

    1x Sunsilk reduced frizz haircream = 88p

    Total is: £20.05

minus bogof of £10.98 = £9.07 to pay

    Used 2 x £2.50 HB
    4 x £1.25 Quits
    5x 40p Colgate

You are left with a credit of £1.93 off your shopping. You can use the So Beautiful as well if you have it to get more off your shopping but its probably more useful to save it for when you get awkward sa's who only accept one of each coupon.

Second shop was for the Shockwaves stuff. They have loads of variants, mostly they cost £2.47 but they have a more expensive range at £2.97 also.

I bought (numerous times) the following:

    Shockwaves hairspray/gels/gunk at £2.47 each.

    8x £2.47 = £19.88
    1x 21p toothpaste
    total = £20.09 to pay

    Minus £7.76 for the buy 2 for £3 = £12.33 to pay
    I used:

    £2.50x 2 HB
    4x 1.25 Quit
    1x 40p Colgate

total to pay = £1.93 which I easily covered with the Magazine week coupons.

You could use a So beautiful if you have it, to get a small profit of 57p on your shopping.
