Tesco Mobile Voicemail Setup Problem

I have a Motorola Moto G 4G and have just switched from giffgaff to Tesco Mobile and ported the number. But I cannot access the TM voicemail. I have switched Voicemail on (2905), and change the voicemail default in Menu>Settings>Call Settings to 905. But when I dial Voicemail it wrongly dials 443 (the giffgaff voicemail number) which of course is not recognised. Even if I create a new contact and save 905 to it, or even dial 905 manually, it still dials 443!
Can anyone advise please? The phone was bought SIM-free.

Have you tried a factory reset? Sorry, only thought I have. Or searched the GiffGaff forum?

In the dialler, what does it say in Settings/Voicemail/Service?

    In the dialler:
Service: 'my operator' (no other options).
Voicemail: '905'. I changed that manually.
I had a similar issue with a previous Huawei smartphone when new. It was bought locked to Voda. I unlocked it, but it kept trying to dial Voda voicemail when using a giiffgaff SIM. Eventually got that sorted. But this current phone was bought SIM-free on Amazon.
And it's baffling me how I can manually dial 905 and it comes up with 443?!

The easiest answer is to change the default dialer to one from the play store.

Thanks, will try that, is there one that you recommend (a free one preferably)?

You could try this one https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=me.dialer.DialerOne&hl=en

There's quite a few so you could just keep trying them till you find one that you like

Thanks. I just tried Oftly Dialer. Same issue: when I manually enter 905 on the keyboard, it dials 443! Will try your suggestion. I just don''t understand what is going on here.

It's only happening with 905. For example, if I dial 222 (Asda Mobile), it dials that correctly (although of course the number is not recognised).
I can also turn the voicemail on/off correctly using 2905/2915.
    Will try with another dialler.
