Update from anyone who's interested.
After closing the card and lodging a complaint at the time, I received a call the other day from a nice chap who agreed that I'd been misled, apologised and has now put £50 into my bank account!
A satisfactory outcome despite the wasted time and energy.:beer:0 -
We just had the same experience from Yorkshire Bank applying for their 20 month interest card for purchases (same group as Clydesdale) - I was asked to submit my wife's id paperwork at the nearest branch which is in Gloucester some 45 miles away and not open on Saturday. I sent them a rather sarcastic letter back along with my signed application pointing out it is in fact 2015 not 1995. I also pointed out that no-one gets utility bills anymore as we have switched to online billing.0
