    Thankyou abba1772. I think these targets are easily achievable. I am hoping if I beat them I will increase them. Good luck with your targets :)

  • Evening everyone.

    I am feeling really rubbish tonight.

    I went to collect medication from the pharmacy for DS2, only to be told by the pharmacist that the medication prescribed is unlicensed to be used on a 2 year old. The medication was prescribed by a consultant pediatrician. I now have to take DS2 to see GP to get different medication :mad:

    I then went to work and a colleague confronted me saying that I ignore her and 'do I have a problem with her?' I don't have a problem with her. If anything I felt like she had a problem with me. Last week she criticized me for not doing something right. If I had been told 3 weeks ago when I started the job I wouldn't have done it. I haven't made the same mistake again. I'm not a confrontational person naturally. It's the fact that my colleague started shouting across the empty playground 'do I have a problem with her?' Its not the type of conservation I would want anyone to over hear. It has left me feeling demoralised and questioning every aspect about me. I have always thought I was an 'OK' human being, but something has gone wrong somewhere
    :(

    I did come home and burst into tears.:(

  • Good morning everyone,

    Friday was a lot more positive then Thursday! I made a real effort to talk to my colleague.

    I have also been doing a lot more thinking about my family's future. I have come to the conclusion that we will need to up size, in the near future. But in order to do that we have to clear all the debt and pretty much most of the mortgage. A 5 bedroom detached house with ample living space downstairs in this area of Gloucestershire commands the £300-£400k price tag. As DH and I are low earners any chances of obtaining a mortgage for around £150k is near impossible. In light of these facts, I am more motivated to pick up the pace on getting us into the position we need to be in order to move.

    I have just been playing around with the MOP calculator on the site and I estimate we would need to pay an additional £600-£700 each month on top of our normal mortgage payment in order to clear mortgage by the time I turn 35. I'm really not sure how realistic that is on a monthly income of £1500 :o. I really need to look at our SOA and see what we can give up or reduce to try and help us achieve the OP needed.

    Then its just a case of persuading DH on my insane plan. Not an easy thing to do. I will need to use all my best female charms to get him on side ;)

    Targets for December

    New total: Cot mattress needed : £7.91/£25.00

    MSE things for 28/11/2015

    * Walked to and from GP's surgery and work- saved diesel and free exercise
    * Received a cheque in post from old work pension: £11.81 one paid in and cheque has clear it will go to H2B savings
    * Received £10 voucher from survey site in post.
    * DH made mince pies.
    * Decided rather than buy a big expensive birthday cake, I bought two smaller sponge cakes, one chocolate and a victoria sponge- saving around £1.70 on cheapest birthday cake
    * Posted sold item after buyer finally paid
    * All meals from stores
    * Completed surveys
    * Clothes washed at 30 degrees and placed on airer.

    Today will be a spendy day as it's DS2 2nd birthday. I have promised both DS1 and DS2 they can have Mac D's happy meal for tea :o

    Have a good day all! :)

    I don't have a diary but I'll share a little win I had today.

    Recently received a letter from Virgin informing me of the price increase so rang to see if I could negotiate a better deal, was offered £3 per month off my bill and no increase. Wasn't too happy so decided to move to Sky as they had a 50% off deal on the Original bundle (£36.40 with Broadband and call package), I also could get £108 cashback through Quidco. Had a call from Virgin today as Sky had initiated the switch for my phone number. They offered me my current package which was £46.99 p/m for £26.40 and credited my account to the amount of £118 (I couldn't remember how much Quidco were paying me).

    So Sky would have cost me £328.80 this year (minus cashback), getting my current package now for £198.80 (minus cashback that's £16.56 p/m!). A saving of £130! If I hadn't bothered trying to get a better deal at all I'd have paid Virgin £611.76 this year. Saved myself £412.96!

    That's amazing Bodle1984. It just proves a little effort can bring huge rewards. Well done to you. You have inspired me to see if I can reduce my outgoings now :D

  • In terms of money saving, today has been rather spendy. As it was DS2 2nd birthday we had family over for a party. DH decided that we didn't have enough supplies, cue a trip to Mr T. DH bought for £5.50 2 packs of ham, bread, a block of cheese, 2 packs of crisps and 2 packs of sweets. There was plenty left over. With the cakes I bought yesterday for around £2.50 it fed 6 adults and 2 children.

    I said in my post I was going to treat everyone to Mac D meals. However I started to feel guilty about spending lots of money. Instead I went to Mr T's and bought 2 pizza's on offer, 2 garlic bread's, 1 pack of onion rings, coleslaw and yoghurts for £6.30. This meal fed 3 adults and 2 children with leftovers. But it was cheaper then Mac D's.

    Other MSE news:

    * completed all surveys
    * walked to and from Mr T.
    * bought a stocking filler that had a third off.
    * washed all clothes at 30 degrees and placed on airers.

    Not a lot today.

    Night all.
