Well if you haven't exchanged contracts yet try to push them to include another parking space or allow you to purchase one, if not walk away and look for another property that actually meets your needs.0

This is true but one of the neighbours has a garage ontop of the two spaces. All houses are 2 bed, although are a different shape (detached/semi's/coachhouse).
My concern is that with 2 cars, one of us might end up having to park in a visitor space round the corner - this will of course increase our insurance (if it's declared of course) and the risk to our cars.
A bit more information on this query, we haven't exchanged contracts yet. We've paid for our local searches and for a small number of options in the house and a reservation fee - not much money in the grand scheme of things.
Houses in the area are extremely difficult to get, especially for first time buyers. It's in the Hart District which has recently been voted the best place to live in the UK! Buy to let investors are strife!
Don't rely on being able to use a visitors space. Two reasons, you'll not be the only one with this idea, and where someone decides to treat it as their own the management company may intervene. On the development where I live this eventually resulted in cars being towed away.
If you don't like the parking arrangements then you'd be best to walk away.0 -

Unfortunately not, the garage goes straight out onto the road and on the right is another garage and to the left is the drive through.

Today there are rules about the number of parking spaces builders have to provide. There are various complicated conditions which apply, and it will all have been taken into consideration with the planning permission granted. Depending on location, a certain number of allocated spaces have to be provided, and this number is not allowed to be exceeded. For example, in a town centre a block of 200 flats may be built with only 100 parking spaces. (when only couples can afford to buy so 400 cars could be needing to be parked!) The idea of this is to encourage 'green' living - people who live and work in the same town pollute less as they do not drive to work. And often there is more public transport than in more rural areas.
It is daft as a brush, of course, as that is not how people live, but it is worth bearing in mind when buying a recently built property.0 -

Well presumably if you had chosen to spend another £25k, like your neighbours, you would have a second parking space for your car0 -
If I've interpreted correctly, if the others with the extra spaces are semis and detached houses, they will likely have paid more for their properties than what you are paying for the coach house (flat).
We looked at a coach house and I said absolutely not. The parking in new builds can be troublesome and our cars both being on a driveway and easy to come and go without worrying about parking, was essential for me.
Make sure the car fits in the garage (they make them so small these days you can just about get into the garage but might struggle getting out of the car...).
If you are in major doubt, walk away.0
