License needed ??

Just got renewal. I am watching more on-demand than before.
"If you only watch on-demand then you don't need a licence".
No doubt covered somewhere else, but can't find it. HOW do they know/can they prove, that you do not watch live tv, or stream films, etc ?? If someone knocked at the door, I do not have to let them in (do I ? they are not baliffs/entitled to enter).
My TV would be 'capable' of watching live TV at the press of a button. They only have my word that I don't. Is there really a detector van that wanders around and picks up a live TV signal being viewed ??

Disconnect your ariel or Sky and the wires into the room so that you're not tempted. As long as you don't watch any broadcast as it is being broadcasted or record any channel then you do not need a liscence.
You do not have to let them in or speak to them. They have no powers unlike bailiffs.0 -
You can watch stuff your friends have recorded for you and watch stuff on demand, but not watch any stuff that is being streamed at the same time as it is being broadcast.Never Knowingly Understood.

"streamed at the same time as it is being broadcast."
so films that I stream that have previously been recorded (movietube), ARE Ok ?0 -

Don't think that watching movietube is OK!0 -
My local paper shows dozens of people having been fined. Wonder how/on what, they were caught...0

In essence, there is no way to prove or disprove, unless the "main in a van" has some sort of video footage if you watching live TV, which is highly unlikely.
The TV Licence fee is paid in good faith. Some people decide to flaunt that law and not pay.
You already know you don't need a licence, so it's a bit of a non-topic really... unless you do occasionally, or all the time, watch live TV and want a bit of reassurance you won't get caught...0
