Congratulations FPk :T  :j :T  :j So happy for you
Glad to hear your OH is feeling better ginnyknit0 -
Morning all. Congrats FPK and glad that Hester's DD is reconsidering.
I'm another one who's just ordered some of those washing machine balls. Apparently each one will do 210 washes. Worth a trial.
Just had a text from my DD with the complete itinery of her trip to the big smoke next weekend - "in case anything happens there again". She's coming round later today. I'll explain that it's always been a dangerous place and she should carry on just the same as when she only lived 20 miles away. She thought nothing of going into London for theatre/shopping etc and should carry on.Spend less now, work less later.0 -

I applaud your views and absolutely agree with you Jazee.'I'm sinking in the quicksand of my thought

Morning all,
I'm absolutely shattered after allotmenteering yesterday. We're headed out to do the shop shortly and then it is back for a day of house packing and organizing. I was going to do the kitchen today, leaving aside things for next week but I've reconsidered and decided I'll do all of the pictures on walls etc. I'll probably do the kitchen during the day Wednesday.
Jazee, you're right. I hope your DD has a lovely time.0 -
Anyone want any rain.........
We seam to have lots here ,
unless everyone has already floated away£223/ £250 GC0 -
We've had torrential rain here too and strong winds, all sorts of stuff being blown around and banging into the side of the boat.
CHS is home all day tomorrow as the solar panels are being fitted, weather permitting.
I'm still having problems with the machines at work, I'm seriously considering taking a few days off if the problems aren't sorted soon as I'm getting no help from my line manager, she doesn't know what to do.
DS and his gf are coming over this evening to help me move some furniture into the front garden ready for the council to collect.
I also need to do the meter readings this afternoon and go to the hospital to collect more hearing aid batteries.Chin up, Titus out.0 -
Morning all,
We have plenty of the wet stuff here as well! I did manage to get everything finished up work-wise yesterday so apart from monitoring emails and little things that crop up I can now turn my attention to packing. OH has done all of the books and most of the things in the lounge. His clothes are mostly done as well. I have my work stuff to pack and the kitchen/breakables are my responsibility. I also need to do my clothes, but they won't take too long. I'm going to briefly nip into town today, there is a winter coat I've had my eye on since January and it is discounted now. I'm going to need one so I thought I'd go and try it on. I'm hoping it lives up to my memory of it as I don't particularly fancy a lot of coat shopping this summer.
OH is out tonight so I will scrounge my own tea. My friend with the allotment gave me some pickles and some other lovely preserved bits so I have plenty of treats. I made a roast chicken last night which will do us for sandwiches etc. once I pack the kitchen, so I might do a lovely big salad with bits of chicken, pickle etc.
Hugs to all who need them, and good luck with the machines Hester! I think a day or two off might be just what the doctor ordered.xx0 -
FPk Good luck with the coat
Hester Yes, do take a break. Won't your manager call the engineer?0 -
Hi Guys, I'm back. It was 30 degrees yesterday in Malta. I arrived for the start of summer. Just as I got out of the taxi at the airport in Malta it started to rain. Very rare in June.
Arrived in Manchester after delays and having to have my passport checked 6 times at Malta Airport (how's that going to prevent terrorism?)the mind boggles, to find 14 degrees and absolutely pouring down. I wish I had taken my mac. I booked a taxi to pick me up at Man.airport but he did not turn up. Metered taxi cost me £80!
Congratulations FKP and good luck with the coat.
Will catch up when the walls stop closing in on me, DD's flat is enormous.0 -
Welcome back nursemaggie! good to see you.
Apparently here we've had almost a month's rain in a day, but i suppose we do need it in our area as our water comes from boreholes.0
