Bouncing up and down here, as I think I might have found a way to get myself a particular luxury product I've had my eye on for some time, but cant afford/justify paying money for and I can feel some "work" coming on to earn it - but hey....that's one way to get it (lateral thinking and all that.....).
Also heaving a sigh of relief re some voluntary work I do. I've found things can be a bit different re doing voluntary work to what I am used to here and suspect part of it might be people not being able to "vote with their feet" as readily as they can in a bigger area (eg my home area). Nevertheless, I am now very hopeful that things have been put on the MUCH more democratic etc footing I am used to and I think we are all heaving sighs of relief all round (ie because quite a few of us are used to more democratic etc etc ways of running voluntary groups/good bit more appreciation for our efforts/etc). There's been a positive outbreak of smiles from everyone.:).
So - right now...feeling pretty positive and am on a roll and actually hoping that a particular political candidate here turns up on my doorstep again and a couple of his opponents as well. I've read what they have said and some of its a bit "personal" and I'm good to go at offering them a drink and then telling them "what for" whilst they drink it:rotfl:....rubs hands together....:). I've never yet tipped a drink over the head of someone who deserved it - but theres always a first LOL.0 -

That gave me a right good laugh, so thanks for that! I'll be off now practising my pinky extensions as I so do want to fit it0 -
I don't do it when I'm using a jam jar, there are some limits to sophisticated behaviour! Mind I do like a dunked bikkit or two!0

Nursemaggie, hopefully they will send someone out quickly. I found our first carbon monoxide alarm at Aldi and the second came from one of our local 'pound' shops although it was £12. In the mean time it won't hurt to be aware of the signs. Some of them are a bit vague, esp. given I know you have health problems which may feel similar, but I thought I'd link to them just in case they would be of help.

Just back from the gym. I went via the postoffice and charity shop where I struck gold--I found Delia's Frugal Food for 99p (feel I just read someone else did as well but can't remember what thread) and a knitters handbook which should help me take the next leap. The two ladies working the till were very sweet and one even showed me the cardigan she was wearing that she'd knitter herself. I said I may be back in for some cheeky knitting tips.
Personally I wear my madness as a badge of honour. It gets things done and scares the flies away.:D0 -
Lyn, my favourite bikkie for dunking is a ginger nut. I hate it when you dunk a bikkie and it breaks off before you have chance to eat it

FPK those are the side effects from my cancer treatment I get all of them most days. Will have to keep my eye on DS trouble is he sleeps a lot anyway.
I will certainly keep my eyes open for a carbonmonoxide detector. DIY stores are all were buses don't go and some distance from me. We had one at the last house provided by the landlord. Used to make me laugh because the boiler was in an outhouse and it was the only gas appliance.0 -
