I love sprouts just plain boiled but occasionally cook them and then fry them in butter with lardons or pancetta and a splash of white wine - gorgeous! :D

This morning I was full of what the road to hell is paved with. Unfortunately neither the flesh or the spirit was very willing.
I did manage a few displacement activities. The bathroom is sparkling. The drawer in my bedside cupboard is a miracle of order. The number of recorded programmes on the TV has been severely decluttered. The mountain of detritus in the middle of the floor is untouched by human hand.

I have decided that my default setting is inertia.
The mental effort expended in making the decision to do something takes up so much energy that there is nothing left to follow through and actually do it.
    I procrastinate.
    I make excuses.
    I am lazy.
    I am permanently tired.
    But................

Camelot. I don't think that Dora's CV includes any mention of sorting, tidying or packing although I'm sure she would give it her best if allowed.

Ivyleaf. Glad the hospital visit was OK. Not long to wait now.

If anyone is interested, cabbage is not only improved by mint sauce. Garlic butter is a winner as well.

  • Just a brief post, I had a phone call at 8pm, my great niece Jessica died earlier today, the leukaemia returned and she had a brain tumour, she died on the operating table during surgery. She fought bravely for the last four years, she was six years old.

Dear Hester, my condolences to you and your family. Poor little girl, she is at peace now but my heart goes to the family who has to face this unspeakable pain. You are all in my prayers.
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).
