In a rush, just off to church but popping in to wish Happy Easter to everyone xx0

Happy Easter everyone, we've sunshine here this morning and it's warm enough to be outside in the garden without a coat so we've been harvesting and have rhubarb, the first picking of the year to roast with some sugar and star anise for supper tonight and some beautiful fresh rosemary and fennel to go into the lamb slow cooked stew and have just harvested half a dozen gorgeous parsnips some of which we'll roast to eat with the lamb and some we'll boil and make cheesy parsnips for lunch tomorrow. We've also been right through the house and dusted, tidied and vacuumed and the ironing is all done and put away too. We plan to go for a nice walk this afternoon to see how the local allotments are getting on and enjoy the sunshine. Hope you all have a lovely Easter Day and enjoy whatever you choose to do , Lyn xxx.0

Gosh Lyn, you've been busy. I thought I was doing quite well too until I ready your post. I've also been out in the garden, nothing to harvest but plenty of seeds planted in the greenhouse.
Just off out for another walk with the dogs and then I'll get back out in the garden.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Happy Easter
Have just had a lovely hot bath to ease my back after planting 3 1/2 dozen potatoes on the allotment. I also brought home a bag of sprouting broccoli to have with oxtail stew tonight nom nom. Could have picked rhubarb but we still have some of last years in the freezer:o
Plan this afternoon is some sorting and some baking - made focaccia yesterday for the first time, and quite fancy having a go at some wholegrain rolls today.
Hope all have a peaceful Easter day

The 9 months I spent being a parent of a non religious child attending a catholic school was enough to open my eyes about inclusion in terms of being seen to be Christian rather than Christian values.
Hello! It's been a while but I haven't been in one place long enough to be OS. We have had our long over due fix of the West Coast of Scotland and visited Durham. Durham should be home but no feelings what so ever. I am upset to be leaving the Lochs ans Glens though. DH and I adore the West Coast. We're altering our retirement plan chats
visited FIL who is just fine. Lots of laughs. We're Southward bound as I type and heading to a hotel off the M6 to break up the journey.
I have though put my grocery order through which be delivered late tomorrow. Spicy sausage and bean SC casserole will be the first meal.
I have got my MOJO back with cooking. There's only so long a person can eat prepacked processed stuff before they crave real food so that where we are at now. I do need to get organised though. It starts with refreshing the staples and using up the freezer contents as I am thinking of freezing made up meals so it just means I defrost, debag and switch on. Ill get there. Its just learnig new skills and being organised under pressure as opposed to being organised with a lot of time to spare.0 -
Happy Easter Everyone
I went to Yorkshire to stay with friends but have had to come home as I have a D&V bug, possibly caught from my friend's friend who I saw on Wednesday.
Made the decision when I got up that I would come back, it's a 4 hour drive but I made it without being sick, hopefully that has passed now.
On a more pleasant note, the weather is glorious and there was some stunning scenery on the way up.
Hope you all have a lovely, peaceful and restful day, will catch up with you later.0 -
Hey FUDDLE and FAMILY Happy Easter lovelies!!! DD and I have just come home from a lovely long walk along the river meadows and all the gardens are full of spring flowers it's beautiful. Hope you had a refreshing break away and come back with recharged batteries and ping. Glad you've got your cooking Mojo back little one, DD tries to keep homemade meals ready cooked and frozen so she does just that, gets one out in the morning to defrost and only has to heat it up in the evening when she eventually gets home. She tries to fill the oven with different things when she uses it and splits the cooked food into the right sized portions and tries for a variety of different dishes so she doesn't get bored with 'samey' food. Saves her quite a lot in energy both the electric for cooking and the preparation time in the evening. Hope you enjoy your hotel night, lovely not to have to make the beds and cook breakfast even if it's only for one night!!!0

Happy Easter to all my old friends

I havent been able to read back, but I wanted to pop in and give a wave to those of you who have been asking how I am getting on, thank you for the lovely messages and support.
Its the usual madness here and I am full time home schooling which is incredibly rewarding but also draining. Since we lost the dog DS has struggled without him and its only now I am realising just how much he relied on his calming stability.
After the Easter holidays we are going to be contacting a local project who help auties find the right dog and train them, which we will do together.
I hope you all have a wonderful peaceful Easter and sending hugs.0 -
Good to see you post Kidcat,
Whereas I do hope your life settles a little to allow you time for yourself, I'm well aware it doesn't run like that.0 -
Evening all
I've been reading along but not posted for ages, I was very busy at work & then had a Jetrea injection last Monday, I arrived at hospital at 12 & finally went to theatre at 5:30, totally exhausting.
I still can't see properly out of my left eye so it's al a bit of a struggle.
I'm dog sitting this week & currently have a 9 stone staffie sat on my lap! He's a bit stressed as he doesn't understand, but I'm sure he'll be ok in a while.
Fuddle, I always keep in a few HM ready meals in my freezer for my CBA to cook days
