  • Probably best imo not to let on to the employer that you suspect and I wouldnt take any risks of them "knowing I know" in your situation Floss.

They may be minded to keep you "in ignorance" for as long as they feel they can get away with it - in order to make sure you finish doing any particular projects/etc they've got you doing. But, being cynical, if they know you know anyway = they might think "Best to kick her out the door asap - so she doesn't start telling other staff what's what".

That's what my personal experience of employers was anyway fwiw.

The longer you can hang onto that job - whilst surreptitiously looking for another one asap - the better imo.

Oh Floss, so sorry to hear that :( Good luck.
  • Change of subject to another area entirely, we have the MSE newspage as our google page when I log on and more and more these days I'm faced with pictures of 'celebrities', really pretty women most of them but the dresses they're wearing seem to be showing more and more acreage of bare flesh, particularly this newest fashion for the v neck that reaches their tummy button and shows more than half their boobs! many of them on red carpets and at awards ceremonies and in the real paper today there is a picture of the 'celebrity' who was robbed in Paris and her sister going for dinner again with vast acreages of bare flesh exposed and skimpy bits of material held together with buckles for a dress in one case. How is this flattering? it looks ghastly and (from a womans perspective) as far from sexy as you can get, cheap and tawdry no matter that they have good figures. Whatever happened to modesty and decency? maybe I'm just getting older but it's very sad to see!

Softstuff - Go for electric if it makes for an easier life. Also, you may find later on that you really could do with one.

What a predicament Floss, I think I would be looking for something else before you are forced to along with the other employees.

Well said Mrs LW, these 'celebrities' seem to think that we all want to see their bodies!

Another lovely day here, that's 4 in a row which is some sort of miracle. I could get used to hanging out the washing every day!

I think the celebrity culture is based upon so called reality for much of the part. They make their money from sponsorship, advertising products to their following and the only real way to get a following is to be always in the spot light. I think maybe that reality based celebrities have to constantly be talked about and driving attention.

The best way to get into some media is to suffer a nipple escaping I expect.

My worry isn't really the lack of clothes but the fillers and the like that early 20 somethings do to their faces. Already DD is getting into her appearance being tip top. At the minute its lip balm and a styled fringe but I am scared for her generation and what constitutes beauty.

How can I possibly instil that natural beauty is best when everyone around her of all ages are filling, lifting and dyeing to remove all elements of their own natural being.

Floss - What a pain... something better will come along x

Lyn - completely agree - more is more girls, leave something to the imagination - although I must say, I am more Beryl Cooke than sex bomb :D

In my head this is similar to what I imagine we all look like on the OS board night out :T
