My useless doc when I first got ME, sent me to the Infectious Diseases dept of a big Edinburgh hospital - who took one look at me and told me I shouldn't have been sent there in the first place and to go home. Took me about 2 hours to get there and the same home to hear that. Then he sent me to a total eejit in the local hosp who told me she didn't believe in ME and was going to refer me for physiotherapy. I hope she gets it lol

This sent shivers down my spine! I'm being investigated for all sorts of potential illnesses atm, but I'm pretty sure it's ME. A rhuematology and/or infectious diseases referral were discussed, and now in being sent to a general medicine person at the hosp.

Is difficult enough to get used to and try to pace yourself without having to fight with Drs!

Sorry you had such a nasty Dr, GQ. As though them not believing in an illness stops it from being real!

:( Yeah, he is a !!!!!!. I just love it when someone who knows nothing about you as a person forms opinions based on the estate you live on, and your social class and gender amd concludes that you're hypochondriac. I'm probably the reverse psychology and inclined to soldier on stoically.

I consider that man contributed to the wastage of my twenties and early thirties and damned near neglected me to death. I only got to see a consultant at all because my blood chemistry was so haywire. My darling GP had a temper tantrum when he got that result back, as if I'd produced a severely-abnormal sample just to spite him. Just so glad I was strong-willed enough not to take the anti-depressants he was trying to fob me off with for all those years. I truly wish that man ill, in every sense of the word, and there are few people IRL I detest so much. If I'd've had any recording of what he said to me, and how he said it, I would have hoped to have seen him struck off the medical register.

Sorry to hear that you're going through the mill at the moment and hope the diagnostic process won't be too much of a PITA. At one time, I reckoned the labs at the famous hospital - as well as at the tropical medicine place in Lunnon Town - had as much of my blood as I did.

GQ, that's terrible! He should be ashamed of himself. I'm very annoyed on your account. Ugh. Some people just shouldn't work with the public!

I've been very lucky, my GP is lovely, but stumped. So no diagnosis and a somewhat precarious existence on ESA atm. Ah well, it could easily be worse. Long term I'm hopeful of stabilising enough to work at least part time - I'm only 27!!

In fact, GQ - you've been something of an inspiration, i can only dream of the energy for an allotment just now. Lots of helpful ideas on the dehoarding and KM threads too :)

*waves to everyone else* hi, tend to lurk rather than post but lots of hugs, sticks and spoons to go round xx

Pushkins is gorgeous! My cats would definitely do the whole shout at the fire to make it work thing too :)

Lovely pics of your Pushkin Mrs L - mine won't sit near the fire as her coat is so thick - she seems to prefer snow & rain!
GQ - how awful for you - it does say heaps about your strength of character though to plough on and rise above such nasty pettiness that cost you so dearly.
I had alopecia after a disastrous marriage & my GP was great & sent me to see a consultant at the local hospital who told me I pulled my hair out in my sleep. When I asked him if I did that to my eyelashes too he said 'probably' - I went home, cried my eyes out for half an hour & thought s*d you. DH2 always said it would grow again & he was right - bless! I just wonder why these people go into these professions when they have no empathy
