Lovely to hear of the new pups, hope they bring you many years of fun and happiness.

I would love to have a dog but it wouldn't be fair as I work full time. Need to find someone with a dog I can 'borrow'.

It's Friday, my early finish and this evening I am doing ............. absolutely nothing.

    Nargleblast she sounds gorgeous.

We had the problem of books. We had to move the book to a room ours was not allowed in and put books that were being read in draws or cupboards. We also had to take the handles off draws because she would sneak upstairs and take clothes out to chew them. We came back one night to find my ex had no underpants but the ones he was wearing. She had chewed them to bits.

Get plenty of things for chewing. Charity shops all have plenty of soft toys.

greenbee Thank you that sounds perfect for us because I just don't think we have room for one. It would have to be a little one. I think I will look into that.

Builders have gone for the weekend. Next week is their last week. On Monday they take out the stairs and install the new staircase which is currently in the garage...

All the bedrooms and the ensuite are done (bar a few bits - ensuite needs the underfloor heating connecting, floor sealing round the edges basin sealing, window catch changing, wire up for temporary curtain; bedroom needs window catches changing, second coat on outside of door, doorhandles back on; spare room needs the curtain pole up, new screws in one socket, hooks up, second coat on both sides of door, doorhandles on; kids room needs window catch changing). All the doors and architrave need another coat of paint on the landing side but the whole landing is being decorated once the stairs are in.

Heating still isn't on as the plumber needs to finish the new circuit and replace two radiators from downstairs that we used upstairs to speed things up.

So I should be able to get the bedrooms looking pretty much as they are supposed to be. Then I need to empty the hall for Monday morning. But the end is in sight!

Greenbee, when we had our bathroom done, we found the snagging went on for another 50% of the time...

They haven't got another 50%. They've been here for 9 weeks :) And they have to be done by next Friday.

I've just cleaned the ensuite and put the shower curtain up. Tomorrow I'll have to make a bit more effort - get myself back into the bedroom and ensuite, and do some laundry so I can make up the spare beds. I have a headboard to go on the bed i've been sleeping in for the last month, and the kids' toys need to go back in their bedroom.

When it's all over I'm going to sleep.

If you read it quick, it doesn't sound like much at all ;) good luck with your final furlong. You do realise we'd all like to see a few pics!

I had a call from my friends hubby, he can start on our bathroom shortly. Just means I have to figure out the layout, the style, the fittings, order everything. ... over here just finding what we want can take days of googling, so much work to be done.

Morning all. Sorry I've not posted for a long time but I have been lurking now and again.

Love all the talk of puppies so thought I'd give you an update on OldDog (also a collie). She now has arthritis which has really stiffened her up so although on painkillers etc, her daily walks were basically me 'dragging' her round the block which took forever. She still wants to go out though so we've bought her a dog stroller and she loves it. She walks to the end of the road then gets in the stroller. We can go out for miles now and she's loving seeing all the old haunts again and loves the attention she gets.

LittleyDog is also getting more exercise and I've dropped 2lbs already.
Spend less now, work less later.

They have a week... So it had better not be much! When this is done I have to recover and plan/save for downstairs.

The bathrooms took me ages - far more decisions to make than anywhere else. And mirrors and lights are still not done. Google hasn't provided the answers yet! The change of plan for the ensuite due to finding more mess than we'd expected didn't help and I ended up selecting tiles on a pretty random basis. But it seems to work.
