Y'know Monnagran I think I'm developing one.
Came home this evening to find something has tried to dig up my garden path, tearing the weedmatting etc. I'd like to come home one evening to find nothing amiss... it might improve my mood.

Hope this will improve your mood softstuff.
Your parcel arrived today it is absolutely beautiful. It must have taken hours to make that. I shall be so proud to display it. Thank you very much.
For others information softstuff sent me a beautiful felt Christmas tree to hang on a door or a wall, we do not have any space to put a Christmas tree. It is covered in little felt decorations with beads and sequins all over them. my description does not do it justice.0 -
How lovely nursemaggie.
Softstuff - there's clearly another revenue-generation opportunity for you!0 -
Furrybeastoz, it could have possibly been a bandicoot, or even an echidna. Wouldn't say it was a cat this time, no cat would dig that deeply through gravel or weed matting. And the problem for me is, if I see a bandicoot or an echidna, the cute factor would very much outweigh the damage done :rotfl: Let me know where you'll be if you're coming over, I may be able to give you some pointers for the area.
Floss, it's not all that bad. Though it felt it last night. A couple of hours today and I think I can fix it. We have a fair amount of spare gravel thanks to my earlier miscalculations.
I'm so glad it arrived Nursemaggie, I thought you'd like it. It did take a while, but I think the effect is worth it. Greenbee, the problem I find with handmade things like that is there's not the willingness to pay for the time taken, but it does mean I can give lovely gifts.

softstuff I don't think anyone has ever been willing to pay for the hours hand crafted things take to make. To pay a reasonable price for it would mean charging at least £1000.
Long ago in the past the people who made beautifully embroidered garments were either slaves or worked for pennies a week. The same goes for complicated knitted garments. That is why on fair isle the ladies knitted with those long needles that fitted into their belts. That way they could knit on their walks to the nearest village or while doing other things. They sat and socialised while knitting anything so they could forget how little they were earning for their work.
We do these things for the pleasure of doing them and to knit or sew love into our gifts. I am at the moment knitting an Aran type pattern for my DGS in Malta. It is a hooded jacket and will take me hours. I just know he will love it and will love feeling the pattern. It is for next winter.
I can just see him pushing his little finger through the twists to see how it works. He likes to run his fingers over patterns to see how they work. I shall let him feel all over the Christmas tree, as long as he washes his hands first.
I really appreciate the gift softstuff it is the best present I have had for nearly 30 years. I think you are so clever.0 -

Then it was well worth doing it.you're very welcome.
I often do things that take crazy amounts of time and that 90% of people can't see the value in. But I do, so it's OK. My current project is a set of pyjamas and a teddy bear... for the skeleton that sits on my physiotherapists desk. They'll be just as well tailored as if they were to be worn everyday (handsewn), take me about 2 days work , but they'll make her chuckle so that's good.Softstuff- Officially better than 0070 -
Aw nursemaggie and softstuff. Just what I needed to read at the start of my day. Lovely, lovely, lovely people.
Christmas can come at your teeny home nursemaggie and all the better it will be filled of warmth everytime you look at softstuff's gift.

Softstuff That's a lovely gift! I love the idea of the pj's and teddy bear for the skeleton :rotfl:
I was going to wash my hair today but just realised I have an optician appointment at 12.30. If I wash it now it won't be dry by then. If I wash it when i get back it won't be dry when we go to collect DGS from school, and if I wash it when we get home from DD's it won't be dry before I want to go to bed. Ho hum.
I can't use a hairdryer, it's too hard to hold it up for long enough0 -
