Evening fencers, just got back from the vet with OldDog after a very long paid stuff day. OldDog has really slowed down over the last couple of weeks. Seems she has a heart murmur and arthritis. Waiting for results of blood tests.

Just cooking tea and then will chill out with both dogs. Too wet for a walk tonight, even a short one.

  • They must have a surplus of heart murmurs JAZEE they gave Docky one last time we visited his vet too! Do you think it's the alternative canine Easter present to an EGG?

ivyleaf, DD is going on holiday. She's travelling on her own but will be met by friends and will be with them all the time. She's going to Jo'burg, Durban and Cape Town. I think she may explode with excitement at the moment but come 3am it could be a different story, I'm taking her to the airport.
Gosh Wondercollie, I would be fuming too.
Jazee, I hope Old Dog is ok.

Going to go to bed very early so I can get up as I wouldn't imagine I will get back to sleep after taking DD tomorrow.
  • Good evening all.

I am now sporting a sky blue toe to knee cast with a sexy black velcro boot and can try weight bearing tomorrow. Unfortunately I am no better on the crutches and managed to trip up over them last night.
The velcro boot might have to be limped with something sparkly. :D
I am playing all of the right notes just not necessarily in the right order :D.

Lets just hope it that's they have a lot of heart murmurs to dispose of! Please keep everything crossed that the tests come back alright tomorrow. DH keeps saying that I've been really lucky to have had 15 years with her (as if that makes it alright). I know he's trying to make me feel better though.

Night night fencers, I'll catch up with you all tomorrow.

    Morning fencers.

Burtha, I got one of those back support thingies that you pop over the back of your chair (really cheap in h0me b@argains). They force you to sit in a particular position. Sorted out all my back and shoulder pain. I'm not sure if this info is any use to you as I don't know what your back problem is or if you have a sit down job like me, but thought I'd mention it anyway.

Have a great day fencers. Please keep everything crossed that OldDogs bloods come back ok.

Fingers crossed for all of the poorly pups.

Maggie the cat has recently developed a fascination with socks. I pair and roll them, and OH usually gets them out the night before for work. She finds them and carries them around the house chirping and purring. Yesterday she found my gloves, rolled the same way. I confiscated them and put them on the dressing table but she has just lept up to have a paw at them and see if she can knock them down. They're very soft cashmere gloves the OH gave me as a present, so will have to store them out of her eyesight!

Sheila :rotfl: You didn't read it wrong, the chicken was about three weeks old. I just didn't mention that I'd kept it in the freezer for most of that time. The only green things in the casserole were plants, I promise. :D

Tonight's tea is tuna steaks from freezer, broccoli, salad and rosemary potatoes.

Right, lots of cleaning and laundry to do today, and want to tidy up my sewing space as I've got fabric to make a new dress. I won't start today, but want to have things ready for whichever day I do start. OH has requested cookies for his sixth form pupils so will be baking those this afternoon.
  • Docky used to love a pair of old socks tied in a knotat the ankle part to use as a 'ragger' when he was a pup, he'd get the knot in his mouth and shake like mad which caused the toe parts to whirl madly round his head and batter him on the head which he thought was the 'best' fun!!!
