Hi all,
We're back from our mini break, lovely to go away, even better to be home
Monnagran- sounds like you had a lovely time on the beach, and as a mother of an (High functioning) autistic son (21), he was always and still is the most honest and genuinely caring and loving child and has turned into a wonderful young man - he was and can still be a PITA too. Can't we all X
Burtha - I really feel for you and you OH - death brings out the best and worst in families - I sometimes think about when my own Mother passes, as we are not close, and I am the 'black sheep' I wonder if I,ll even be told by the family...Note to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !!

Oh Burtha - so sorry for your loss and for the way your DH is being treated. Huge hugs xxSmall victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0

Softstuff, if you have a phone that is not tied to a network bring it with you and just pick up a payg sim over here.
I'm going to bring my phone, but have read up and it's uncertain whether it'll work with a uk sim or not, so no guarantees at all.
I'll be coming from Morecambe, but probably by train, since they seem to have cancelled the buses. I know Blackpool incredibly well though, so pick where you like and I'll find you.
Burtha, sorry you're having to deal with all this. I have no idea what makes people behave like this at such a traumatic time anyway. It continues to surprise and horrify me.Softstuff- Officially better than 0070 -
Sorry to hear this Burtha, and it is NOT what your DH needs nowMust use my stash up!0

Burtha: I am horrified by what you are having to put up with but, sadly, not surprised. It seems as though some siblings never really grow out of childish behaviour. I do think that whatever people think privately, family should be treated with the same courtesy that we accord to other people. Of course if courtesy is an alien idea to some people family will get the short end of the stick. At a sad time like this it is horrible when there is nastiness in the family. As you said, when the funeral is over you need not see them again. In the meantime come and have a good moan on here, it really does help and you know we will all support you.
Islandmaid: Thank you for telling me that about your son. My lovely grandson is not high functioning unfortunately but he is also kind and gentle and very loving. His speech is bad but he has a huge sense of humour. I wonder with some dread what the future holds for him though generally people are understanding. A public meltdown is still something we try to avoid at all costs.
Silvasava: The boat is called Dora. Not sure why but its quite a relief. I rather feared that it would be called Ramsbottom which is his word for anything good and happy. Anything bad and horrid is Porridge.
Ladybird sounds a good name. I have friends who called their boat 'Ridiculous Extravagance'.

Burtha, sorry to hear about your mil. You really have been through the mill lately. I hope you can have some time with your DH to grieve properly without the upset from the rest of the family. Sending big hugs.x
Monnagran, your dgs sounds like a lovely young man. Very caring of him to share with his little sister. Is the boat Dora the explorer? Love the ridiculous extravagance! That could apply to so many things.2025 Fashion on the ration
