Oh nursemaggie, lovely little feet, I have size 8 and I have always hated them.
I will make you laugh now. I ordered 2 pairs of shoes from E*vans a couple of weeks ago, and i collected them from the store on Thursday. The black ones were fine and the tan ones were the same as I had ordered before in other colours so didn't take much notice. Later I unwrapped them, cut the labels out and tried them on, guess what I had 2 right shoes. I said to Himself if when I return them to the shop and they ask if I had worn them I would have to say I have 1 left foot and 1 right
Anyway I returned them this morning and no problem at all thank goodness, but they had a laugh as well.

Nursemaggie - I feel for you! I have narrow feet but as I'm nearly 6ft tall I take a 7 1/2. A 7 catches my toes and I walk out of an 8! Very few places do that size but I've found a continental 41 is usually fine. As you have such tiny feet is it worth you looking on 't'internet? Maybe there are some companies that cater for tiny Asian feet that might fit.Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0

What about children's shoes nursemaggie? It may also be worth having a look at sketchers, very comfortable and come in all sizes. There are some that are elasticated on the top and others with laces. A big bonus is that they can be put in the WM. I thought they were quite expensive when I got them but they have been worth every penny.
I've had a lovely day today, went for a swim and after a shower, putting the washing out and having breakfast took my bike (on the back of the car) to DDs. We cycled from hers to Glasgow along the Clyde and back, stopping at the Peoples Palace for a coffee on the way back.
When I got home the washing was all dry, aired it off on the radiators and the house smells amazing. I've had a bath and am sat with lovely outside smelling pjs and dressing gown on. I know all this is quite sad but I am feeling like we have turned a corner (probably short lived) in the weather.
The fresh air was lovely but I am a tad tired now!0 -
silvasava I have a local independent shop sells lots different brands. Most UK shoes are far too wide for me but the Italian ones fit me. I used to buy shoes when ever we went abroad because continental sizes fit me better.
It's the combination of narrow feet and and very small size that is the problem. Half sizes are very hard to find.
What I often find is the assistant say "If you just show me what you like ." and I say, no just bring me all the 2 1/2 and 3s you have.
They usually come back with one pair of 4s in the wrong type of shoe for the occasion I need them for. Don't know why they do that it's not as if you can shorten a pair of shoes like you can a skirt.0 -
my mother is tiny and has size 3 feet. I think she just has to resign herself to not being able to get cheap shoe ranges as far as I can make out.
I second the suggestion to try out childrens ranges.
I wonder if Italian footwear would be right for me? My feet are size 5.5 - so no problem there. But they are standard width (ie C width) and I can no longer buy Clarks shoes for instance - as they now call wide width (ie D width) standard and don't sell "real" standard width anymore. So its hit and miss these days and I am trying to keep my existing footwear as long as possible. I did manage to buy a pair of ankle boots in Marks & Sparks in standard width.0 -
Exactly money its all D, E and EE.
I can have cheap shoes those very flat things shops like New Look have at only £5. They would not last the time it takes to actually buy a decent pair. I can't walk in them they come so low on your feet you can see your toes. They are very bad for your feet. The're what a friend of mine used to call "your sitting down shoes."
Childrens shoes are far too wide they tend to start at E. Children have different shaped feet to adults and the shoes are heavy and made to withstand what kids do to them.0 -
Nursemaggie and Money - I go for Italian shoes too when I can & I've noticed that it's getting even more difficult to get shoes in a b fitting - gawd 'elp you if you are an A!! I have found some continental ones in TKM and Pavers on the odd occasion HTH.Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0

Hello everyone!
Softstuff, I love your chair, you clever thing
Fuddle, I hope everything goes well with the head teacher. I can't believe they're going to do that, poor kids. They might get good SATs results but what a way to turn children off school and learning
I've been laid low these last few days as I seem to have had that virus that's been doing the rounds. Shivery and can't get warm at all. Typically we have run out of oil so have had to order more. £128 for 500 litres so not too bad (a couple of years ago we were paying more than double that!) Luckily we have plenty of wood and coal so the fire is roaring and I'm tucked up on the sofa under a duvet.
Hope everyone is having a good weekendMammy to 2 boys aged 5 and 20 -

Thank you! I made a hot lemon and honey drink before and had some paracetamol so hopefully I might feel a bit less achy! Tea is a cheesy pasta bake and cornflake tart with custard for pudding so proper comfort food!
The oil should be delivered by Friday (could have had it delivered tomorrow but much more expensive!) Luckily hubby is only working 2 nights this week (he works funny shifts) so he is around to help with the kids and sort out the fire etc
Payday tomorrow and I am starting the March grocery challenge from that date. I've decided to do it payday to payday. Store cupboard looks better than it did this time last month. We had a great pantry in our old house, walk-in style with shelves down the entire right hand side. We ran it down when we moved here 18 months ago!) and never really got it stocked back up. Fell into bad habits. So, this month I have trawled the forums and made a lost of the stuff we needed for out store cupboard to be like it was before. Bought some of it this week (my baking cupboard is looking healthy!) and the rest will be bought this month. Also menu planning so we don't just aimlessly walk round the shops popping whatever takes our fancy in the shopping trolley :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Mammy to 2 boys aged 5 and 20
