Hmmmm........I think I'd like a Midnight Blue section of fence scattered with silver stars. Also a shelf wide enough for a cake tin would be nice.

Yesterday was my first Mother's Day without DS1 here, so that was strange. DH reminded him to send me a card. DS2 brought me a box of Cadburys Mini Egg Easter cakes. he knows my love of bright yellow buttercream :D I did also get lunch and dinner cooked for me, simply by telling DH and DS2 that I wasn't going to cook and that if they wanted to eat the kitchen was that way.

I got to my volunteer job this afternoon with my stomach feeling slightly off. I managed 30 minutes and then disinfected all the door knobs and things I had touched and wobbled my way home. It looks like DS2 is cooking dinner again tonight. He really is a great kid :)

I'm 44 rows off finishing my second knitted lace shawl and it is getting to be hard going. It has to be done and blocked by 28th March as it is a birthday present for a friend who has everything. I figured that we couldn't buy her something hugely expensive, but I can give her time and effort. I hope she likes it. It did also mean that I got to buy posh wool....Rowan Fine Art which is wool, mohair and silk. Yummy stuff in other words :D

    Take care everyone xxxx

SDG31000 the shawl sounds lovely ,very envious of anyone who can knit ,afraid I haven't got the skill or self control ...:( paper things ,arty farty stuff ( dh calls it !) I can do ...other things ,example ongoing tiger proggie matt ,I have had on the go for about 5 years ...nearly done down to the last 10% ,but find it hard on my hands and end up with cutting/scrapped them ...it is lovely though but it is huge ,much bigger than I thought.
My mum appreciates homemade stuff and otherwise I would find if hard because she has or could get whatever she wants ,...my sil was at my mums and seen "my roses" the look of omg on her face was a picture ,she just doesn't get it lol ,thankfully mum and I both do ...hey ho
Very odd is my sil ,there house looks like a show home ,beige with nothing in it ,in 15 years I don't think I have ever made it through to the sitting room ,there kids carnt go in it either :D ,so when there at mine they do tend to go a bit mad because we let them get toys out (kids same ages as mine) and aren't toys ment to be played with ...my brother does try ,but wants to keep the peace ....family's:rotfl:

Gosh that turned into a twist ,oops

    Work tomorrow xx

    Hello everyone :)

Stiltwalker The funny looks from DS2 can now stop as I have seen the wonderful Miss Stilty at the end of Justin's House. DS2 was getting a bit worried about me watching them all on catch up tv. She is a star :D

*waves at burtha * I think your roses sound lovely. I am terrible at things like that, apart from being able to make half decent cards. I took up knitting as I wanted to make something semi-permanent and needed something to focus on during my black days. My boys went to school with some girls whose mom was like your SIL. They were allowed to do messy stuff (i.e use modelling clay, paint etc) outside in summer and in the porch in winter. My boys have been causing chaos since I brought them home from the hospital and to be honest I wouldn't have had it any other way. DS2 is now into paper craft and calligraphy, so lots of ink stains and bits of paper involved.

Today brings some good news :D Our TV developed a fault and was 6 months out of warranty. DH kept insisting that Argos wouldn't do anything and complaining was a waste of time. Thankfully I argued with him and printed out a ton of stuff about the Sales of Goods Act and we are getting a new TV!

    Take care everyone xxx

    Well done to SDG :j

I did something similar when DD drove me and DH to an outlet centre to find a wedding blessing suit for him. After going into three shops we found a posh one having a sale and he got a suit he wanted for nearly half the original price. When we got to the till and found the total he went "How much!" I kept quiet and toddled off to find a similar jacket that was fifty quid less asking innocently why the difference?

Manager agreed to abide by ticket price so DH very happy (especially as I told him they had a royal warrant so he feels really fancy now! )

Scared to try on my outfit as I think it may not zip up but will need to bite the bullet and sort it out soon.

DH is tucking into high cal lunch and I am going to sort out some laundry then will see if he fancies a short walk out to get his confidence back after having a fall.

    Hug to all

  • What a lovely day it's turned into out there, I've just walked the hound and there's birdsong everywhere, blackthorn, wild plum and wild cherry blossom like snow and celandines in profusion on all the summy corners nestled in the grass. Birds with twigs nest building, the brambles and elder bushes have actually popped tiny fledgling leaves and best treat of all was finding some bright blue speedwells shining up at me from the verge, Oh I love it!!!

Oh Bum! Just tried on the dress and it is not only far too tight but too short as well

Good thing I got it in the sale very cheaply and it still has tags on it.

Looks as if a few shopping trips are needed - ouch!

elona you have my sympathies. I hate clothes shopping. Can I recommend going to a shop with personal shoppers? I know that my local Debenhams and John Lewis have them and I have used the Debenhams one to find dresses for special events. They were fantastic at finding me things I wouldn't have thought to try and for finding all the bits to make the outfit. Good luck xxxx
  • Elona, I would say most of us have been there at some time, wishful thinking.

I am sure you will find something, but for goodness sake try it on first;)

    Much love
