Well done to Miss Stilty (and Mum too of course) - you never cease to amaze me with how much you all fit into life.

:) Glad I'm not the only leggy bird on here who needs to take a 34 inside leg, you can feel a bit like a mutant shopping. And I don't like LTS, either. They really know how to charge, plus I have had quality issues with some things bought there in the past. Am still nursing a grievance over a lovely pair of bronze jeans which lost their metallic effect after the first laundering, and then shortly after lost their stretchiness. And I did launder as per the instructions, grrr.

GQ - sometimes the jeans in A**a are quite long & I actually bought some jersey ones in Sainsbugs that are shock horror - TOO LONG. They were a pair of Gok Wan's design so I can actually wear them with heels :) Like you I found the quality of LTS to be no better than SM ones and at 3 times the price. Next do long ones too but I have no bum to speak of so if they're made for more curvy ladies I look like I need a nappy (sorry if thats TMI ;))
Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle

:) Thanks for those tips, silvasava, I shall log them in the old memory bank. I'm determined to lose some weight, and with me, it settles on the thighs, hips and derriere, so won't be buying any new trousers until I get down a size or two. When you were always a 16-18 and the 20s are now getting too tight, you know you ate too many biscuits, don't you? :o

Oh dear GQ, that sounds all too familiar :o

Planning to buy a little outfit for our niece's new baby today :)

Yesterday I had to buy flea treatment for the cat, as I went to get the last pipette out of the box and found they were all gone and I'd absent-mindedly put the empty pack back in the box :( Never done that before! Anyway I had to buy some at the vet's  but paid for a prescription too, which I'll pick up today, then I can buy some on line. Never done that before! It will help make up for not being able to buy his thyroid meds on line.

But it's turning out a bit of an expensive week!

We're collecting the DGKs from school today, so no doubt they'l want to go to the park. It's their Dad's last day in his job before he starts nurse training on Monday :)

Congratulations to the Stiltys, bet you all had a great day.
Mrs LW - You will know what's right for Docky, Olaf too - what a worrying time.

Going for an appt at the hospital this morning, had sun damage on my nose and it was treated in November (think wart treatment spray which led to the biggest blister known to man and on my nose too!). There doesn't see to be any sign of it now so hopefully I will get the all clear.

I sliced a bit off my index finger last night, I was going to call at minor injuries but it has stopped bleeding, just difficult to get a dressing on it. Part of the nail is missing too!

DD came in from work very upset as one of the staff who she is very fond of collapsed. She and another colleague managed to get her in the recovery position, call for security and an ambulance and she went off to hospital. Turns out she has a sinus infection that has settled in her ear. I think DD saw me and couldn't hold herself together any longer. She heard from the lady later last night and she is home and fine. Something like that always shakes you up. She's off today so she can relax.

Hope you all have a good day.
  • Bon Marche do different lengths of jeans/trousers 25",27" and 29" across the board on their ranges. I always buy jeans there as they are well made and tough and can be re-dyed very successfully when they fade and at £15 a pair are affordable for the length of time they are werable. The only down side to the shop I find is the continual drive by the staff to get me signed up to their loyalty scheme, I don't buy many clothes and when I do it's because something has worn out and is in the rag bag but every single purchase is accompanied by earnest persuasion that I'll get 20% off that day and 'offers' in the future. I grit teeth and try to politely decline but it's wearisome!!
