Congratulations TMD--you must feel such relief! How nice will it be to go home this evening, shut the door and know you don't have to go back to the other house again?0

Well done TMD - hope you will be very happy in your new house, and that you will become a keen gardener too!! xx I find there is nothing quite like it for mental relaxation - I sort of go into a dreamy freewheeling mode which is very healing - until I realise how much my back is aching...0

TMD don't do what I did once when my older DS & DD were littlies.
I went out into the back garden Well a paddock really off the back yard.
I said "I'm off to start making a garden out of that paddock" call me in for lunch.
What I thought was about an hour later DD came out and said "When are we having dinner?"
Turned out It was gone 4oclock. I should have know I had dug out a border all round. Emptied the compost heap into the borders because it was just a heap round the back of the shed. I had moved several shrubs too. The guinea pigs were eating the grass as quick as they could because they thought I was going to dig it all up in one day.
We had a big show of poppies in the borders a couple of months later. Half the village were teasing me about growing opium. The compost heap turned out to be the cleaning up from the previous owners parrot.0 -
Mar...As FP said there are 2 different kinds of marigolds , I love calendula in orange and yellow and they self seed and ive got hundreds of them , they go very well with purple veronicas and salvias which flower most of the summer ......I think you are buying french marigolds and you want calendulas, FP has described them well......
The bees seem to love anything in purple and blue that flowers....My grass seed is really growing now , I water it everyday to get it growing .....
MTSTM.....You are definitely better off not having squirrels in your garden , they really are a pest , although I love wildlife , they are naughty at raiding any birds nests they can find , no nesting site is safe when they are about because they can climb anything ........Thats why people nickname them " tree rats "......
Alfsmum.....Yep definitely Hebes are the way forward for easy maintenance borders , the ones ive bought only get to a metre maximum and they are rounded and they flowers different times of the yerar , ive got a besuty thats a metre rounded and it as such lovely purple flowers and its been out since October last year , when eventually the flowers die off I shall cut the dead off and I expect it will flower again .......Ive got 8 different types of Hebes....
Been beautiful today , but I have had a headache since Saturday so ive been teasting my Bp to find its been 190/80 which I think is much to high , so I went to drs today and have a few simple tests the dr said my heartbeat is irregular again.....
Last time I had this prob was when I had the foot op , so tomorrow I have to go to have bloods taken , then Thursday thery will have me on a ECG machine....I hope I dont end up on the cardio unit again, I feel quite well really , never mind , catch you all later ....SheilaMy motto is " one life live it ".....:)0 -

Sheila feet up and relax, take it easy. Hope tests come back OK. I will look out for a hebe or two this week as I have a few days off and hope to get to garden centre for some odds and ends.
Warm and sunny again today, haven't done much as antibiotics making me tired but have cleared ironing and planted out a couple of things in the garden. DH and DD have done some window cleaning so all looks better and they are planning to paint the front door and garage door this week. They got the fans down from the attic as it's quite muggy some nights now but managed to forget to put away the pile of items I had left ready to go up!
Have a chilled evening Fencers, Sheila in particular.0 -
Evening fencers.
I too will be looking for hebes as my lavender bushes appear to have died over the winter and I need a replacement.
Oh and I love orange. I have a 70's kitchen, haha...Spend less now, work less later.0 -

Sheila, hope you can relax and have a rest.
TMD, lots of love to you in your new home.
Got an e-mail this afternoon to say that I have an interview for the job I applied for, now the fun begins, I am absolutely useless at interviews, I will read up and gear myself up for it. There were 195 applicants!0 -
