I am APPALLED at you two. Totally APPALLED!
Don't you just love slipping on a freshly ironed shirt? or getting into a bed made with beautifully ironed sheets?
I don't even mind ironing. Well, perhaps not in this weather, but given a chilly, dismal afternoon and a good play on the radio or film on the telly there is nothing more pleasurable than dashing away with the smoothing iron. As the mountain of crumpled up washing turns into a neat pile of wondrously organised clothes my little house-wifely heart glows.
But then I am a sad, sad woman.
Boy, it's hot tonight.

I understand monna I used to love ironing but since I have been on the cancer treatment it's like living life with the brakes full on. No way I would do any ironing now.0

Nursemaggie, you have every good reason not to iron. I hereby grant you an exemption.
How are you coping in this hot weather? It must be difficult for you.

Morning all - DH up early and made a cuppa
he also does the ironing now but there's not much - some of his shirts and a couple of quilt covers now & again.
Burtha - does your DH have a Just Giving page? If so would you pm me as both the charities are dear to us. DH does a run in Essex for their air ambulance and we have a number of RNLI crew who frequent our club.
Why did I promise to take my friend shopping today??? I'll be like a grease slick! Might ring her to see if we can go earlier so we're home earlier & don't prolong the agony lol.
Have a good day all.Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0 -
I quite like ironing - when the mood takes me. I do like ironed clothes but don't do much, probably more in the summer as the tops & trousers are usually cotton or cotton mix.
I usually just fold the quilt cover but do like to have the pillowcases ironed. Each to their own!0 -
I don't do much ironing in the winter - in Summer though, I wear linen trousers and they do usually need ironing. I do have two pairs from M & S which are "easy-iron". I have a pretty viscose top and a purple linen shirt, and can't get away without ironing those either so I don't wear them very often!
I did once know someone who loved ironing so much that she even ironed her cleaning cloths.
I realised last night that I'd actually got a sunburned face walking to church and back first thing in the morning! I'd put facial sunscreen on, but perhaps it's too old; I thought I'd bought it last year, but must have been the year before. I'll get some more today. At least we have some new after-sun lotion.
Must have something to eat in a minute. I think it will be raspberries and "Greek-style" yoghurt. (The Mr. S. Local didn't have the genuine article.)
We need to go food shopping and I just don't know what to get; OH isn't keen on the idea of having salad more than 2 days in a row....0 -
Last night we had chicken thighs baked with lemon, raisins & pine nuts with a Greek salad. The chicken marinaded in the fridge all afternoon before being baked for 45 minutes while we sat outside drinking sangria under the parasol
. A friend called in on his way home from a bike ride at 4pm-ish, was invited to stay for supper & then overnight and was last seen eating his porridge as I left for work!

I'm one of the individuals who peruses frequently and posts once in a while (at any rate on past variants of the Tough strings), be that as it may we required another string and it was basic for me to do, subsequently its here.
I would be exceptionally satisfied to see any individual who wishes to join in do as such, I'm mindful that a great deal of previously standard notices never again post and there's numerous a name I'd get a kick out of the chance to see return - on the grounds that I making the most of their posts. Similarly I'd jump at the chance to see new individuals participate in light of the fact that we each have a novel perspective and can include abundance and differing qualities and also help and bolster each other.0 -

I agree absolutely Monna. But I never have time (and I'm not that good at it). So I've outsourced my ironing to a neighbour 2 doors down who likes it (while watching rugby/cricket) and is better and quicker than me. It isn't expensive and she needs the money, so I get the benefit without the stress
I love line-dried laundry too, so am making the most of the weather at the moment. I've just moved my washing line from the front garden (so my knickers are no longer on display to anyone passing by) and also have a double line. It makes me very happy0
