HELP! I have been hit by and uninsured driver

    The MIB can take months to investigate before it pays out. If your car is roadworthy you may think it worthwhile to go down that path.


    Check your policy doesn't have an uninsured driver extension (some policies won't affect your NCD if you are hit by an uninsured driver and are completely blameless)


    Consider using a claims handler to deal with the MIB (who will deal with a PI claim as well as the damage to your car)

    Just because the vehicle shows as uninsured doesnt mean the driver was not insured.

    Until a few years ago i had a trade policy that covered any vehicle upto £25k in value and engine sizes upto 5 litres.
