Just found your diary Hummingbird, hope today wasn't too tough for you. xIt’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

Well I've had a lovely chilled out evening mainly consisting of catching up with emails, texts, reading OPD's (Other People's Diaries LOL) half-watching the footie, listening to Smooth Radio hehehe Love it on nights like this but wish they had more recent stuff on there as well as all the classics ( also have to dub the sound when the ads come on! LOL!) Phil Collins at the mo.
Also thinking ahead to Weds - I've recently volunteered for Hospital Radio and will be gradually getting more involved - will be going round the wards to chat to patients and collect requests for the shows. Went last week and was able to contribute a little bit - ended up talking about various bits of trivia from the news stories that day. It is all lighthearted, nothing heavy - to cheer the patients up hopefully!!
That has reminded me I need to gather together all the docs I need for my DBS check for this! Seem to have lost count of how many times I've had one of these done (formerly CRB) but when I need one the old one always seems to be out of date! LOL.
One thing I'll have to watch out for though is that the hospital has a truly wondrous cafe with all manner on gorgeous cakes and these places have been my downfall in the past as mentioned above LOL!
I'm not actually tempted so much by the cakes as by the coffee. I've often thought that if I stood in the middle of a room and all the money I've spent on coffees over the last 10 years came flying back all at once it would be a truly marvellous sight! (In notes though otherwise I'd be concussed :-)
I'm much better with this than I was, but there's still something about meeting friends in Costa. (or Star$$$$$ etc. ) Hot water and a slice of lemon has been a frugal alternative in these places several times recently. And going less often. Of course.£10 a day extra in May '18[B]£35/310[

I love Costa. I used to prefer Starbuck$ but now it's all about Costa
Which reminds me, I have £7.05 worth of points on my card!! Must use soon!! I love a skinny latte with a chocolate brownie mmmmm.
Volunteering for Hospital Radio sounds fab!!! And certainly will cheer up the patients
I'm glad the service went well yesterday xxxThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Unfortunately I won't be able to join you in a NSD today CC but I more or less had another one yesterday apart from placing a charity donation yesterday at the funeral, which was planned.
I'll need to go and get a few bits of shopping later, but I'll make it a Low spend day instead!!

Well my spreadsheet is starting to tell me things already. And I mustn't beat myself up because I'm doing much better than I'd realised on many fronts and so far am having a very low spend month!
And, I've only been out for coffee once this month so far which was when I last went to the hospital for the radio volunteering. That's a big improvement on what it would normally have been.
On the "progress still to be made" list I must stop leaving things til the last minute! I suddenly remembered a friend's 30th birthday this afternoon and had to dash back for a second trip to the shops (thankfully walking distance) to get her card & get it in the post. Since I've known about this birthday for months I had intended to plan ahead and put some money aside, as I still need to get her present and will be going out for a meal to celebrate with her next week.
However I've put precisely nothing aside..... YNAB.....I need you!!!!! LOL!£10 a day extra in May '18[B]£35/310[
